Nothing came before her anymore. Not even this club.

“I love you,” I repeated.

A soft sob ripped from her throat, and her hands trembled as she raked them through my hair again. “I love you, too,” she choked out.

I gently gripped the back of her neck and pulled her back down to me, sealing our words inside of our souls with a binding kiss.

She probably felt like she’d just kissed the devil, but this devil only wanted to worship his queen. I’d spend the rest of my days making the fires of Hell blaze around us all while making sure they never touched her.

“Why do you look so shocked?” I asked her once our lips parted.

She shrugged. “Just a bit emotional today.” She rubbed her thumb over my cheek. “You’ve never let yourself go with me like you did a little while ago. So, I just felt like those words suddenly meant so much more, like you’re really finally letting me in completely.”

I sat up and pulled her onto my lap so she was straddling my thighs. “I always felt like you weren’t strong enough to be my old lady,” I confessed. She frowned at me, hurt flashing through her eyes, dimming their light. I gently squeezed her bare thighs. “But I know now that I was fucking stupid, Reina. Baby girl, there’s not a soul in this world as strong as you are. You’ve been through hell and back numerous times, and every time, you somehow come out stronger. You never let the shit that happened to you weaken you.”

Tears blurred her vision. “Thank you,” she rasped. I frowned in confusion. What the hell was she thanking me for?

I arched a brow at her. “For?”

“For seeing me.”

Ah, my beautiful fucking woman. I was such an ass for hurting her for so goddamn long. She had deserved a shit ton more from me. I knew that day in the hospital that she was hoping we’d finally stop dancing around each other.

And we had. Except, I started a new dance. I started a dance that had worn her down and finally almost pushed her away from me for good.

I was a lucky son of a bitch to be granted the chance she was giving me again.

I tenderly brushed my lips over hers. “I’m never closing my eyes to you again, baby girl.”

Amelia, one of the club girls, handed me a cup of coffee as I walked into the kitchen. I nodded once at her in thanks before disappearing out of the room again. I was sure she was looking for something a bit more than that from me, but I was done with all the random hookups.

I had the one woman I wanted, and I was done playing fucking games with her. I’d made her a promise, and I wasn’t breaking it. She deserved everything good from me, and I wouldn’t give her anything less than that.

My old lady proudly wore my name on her back, and if I had my way, I’d have her knocked up as soon as I could get her to a doctor to find out why her menstrual cycles were so spotty. I wanted to make her mine and tie her down to me any way that I possibly could. It might have been a bit barbaric of me, but now that I had her, there wasn’t a chance in fucking hell that I was letting her go again.

I wouldn’t fuck this up for a third time.

I stepped outside, squinting against the bright light. The clubhouse had mostly still been shrouded in darkness since it was early in the morning—wasn’t even eight yet. The bright light outside was a bit fucking much.

I slid my shades down from the top of my head and strode over to where River was sitting on a picnic table, his booted feet planted on the seat as he watched Adelaide and—

Was that fucking Reina?

My girl was bent over at the waist, a one-piece swimsuit on that left her entire back exposed. A tiny ass pair of jean shorts rode low on her hips, revealing the curves of her plump ass cheeks. Her hair was up in a messy bun on the top of her head, and she was washing my fucking bike.

Women didn’t touch a man’s bike unless she was an old lady or explicitly given permission to. And the fact that Reina was out here washing my bike with her entire back on display for every fucker to see . . . well, that fucking meant something coming from her. It meant she accepted me as her old man. She accepted my ownership of her.

I reached down and adjusted my dick. Jesus Christ, my woman was aiming to fucking kill me.

“How many men we got standing guard?” I asked, my eyes still not leaving Reina. I raised my mug of coffee to my lips and instantly spit it out, pouring the rest of it on the ground. River snickered.
