“I know, I know.” Nick nodded eagerly. “I’ll keep it to myself.”

“You do that. All right then, glad to have you back.”

McCain stuck out one meaty palm and Nick gripped it and shook. Then the older man stepped back and raised his voice, addressing everyone.

“All right, y’all—this Open Breeding is about to begin. We’re going to send the females out into the clearing first—mainly because it’s more fun to run them down.”

This statement provoked a burst of trollish laughter and cheering from the assembled men. McCain raised his hands high and they immediately went silent.

“All right, settle down,” he said unnecessarily. “You know the rules…there are no rules—not here in Wolverton!”

They laughed and cheered again, sounding—I thought—like a bunch of satyrs in rut.

“Breed the females any way you see fit,” McCain continued when there was silence again. “In human form, in Fur Form—doesn’t matter to me. The main thing is that you breed them hard and knot them deep. And don’t forget to seal them afterwards! We want every one of these little bitches to get a big belly tonight. The more seed you shoot in their hot little pussies, the greater the chances we’ll have a whole new crop of Weres in Wolverton nine months from now. So do your best to get them pregnant!”

A hoarse roar went up and I saw the women around me shivering and eyeing the lusty Alphas with wide, frightened eyes. But not a single one of them protested or looked like they were going to put up a fight. I felt a mixture of contempt and irritation for this willingness to be victimized. Surely if we all banded together…

But before I could say anything, Boyd was there, making shooing motions with his hands.

“Go on—git!” he shouted in our faces. “You got a two-minute head start—run!”

At his words, the group of girls turned and began heading into the clearing in the middle of the woods and I found that I was with them—one of them. I ran over the grassy, uneven ground in a blind panic, looking for a place to hide—a place I could escape the unwanted attention of the pack of males behind me.

Boyd had said we would get a two-minute head start but I swear it was less than thirty seconds later I heard the thump of feet behind me. Risking a glance over my shoulder, I saw a naked man chasing after the pack of fleeing women. Even as I watched, he bounded forward and caught a girl that was straggling behind. Forcing her to her knees, he reared over her and grabbed the back of her head.

“Suck it, bitch!” I heard him growl. “Get me wet before I Shift or I’m goin’ in dry!” And then he was jamming his dick down her throat, practically choking her with his thick length. The girl sucked frantically, not even trying to fight him.

I tripped and stumbled over a root at that point, nearly going down. Only by windmilling my arms frantically was I able to catch my balance and keep running.

After that, I was eyes-front. I could hear the shouts and whoops behind me and the thunder of bare feet over grass, but I was determined not to look again. I had to find a place to hide or I was going to end up just like the hapless girl I’d just seen—or worse.

At last I saw a likely looking tree off to my left and ran for it. There were some low branches I could reach and thick clusters of leaves for concealment. I used to love to climb trees when I was a little girl, but that had been years ago. Could I still do it?

I answered my own question by gripping the first low branch and hauling myself upward to the next one. And then the next and the next.

Climbing a tree naked as an adult in fear for your life is a hell of a lot different than climbing as a kid just for fun. But fear gave me strength and I pulled myself upward until I could stand on one thick bough about eight feet up and grip the trunk for balance. There, concealed by the rustling leaves, I looked down at the clearing.

The broad, grassy space was lit by nothing but moonlight, but the moon was full and there wasn’t a single cloud in the sky. I could easily see what was going on—though after the first glance, I wished I couldn’t.

It seemed that every other woman who’d been with me in the van had been caught. As I watched, the girl with the green eyes was grabbed by Bobby Aiken and pulled down to the ground.

“Please!” she was begging, the tears running down her face. “Please—just don’t breed me in Fur Form! It’s too big—your Wolf is too big, Bobby!”
