“You mean you could have been taking care of yourself?” Theodore asked.

Andy crossed her arms and turned to look at her soon-to-be husband. “And you could have taken a shower?”

“I didn’t mind the sponge baths.”

At the mention of sponge baths, her cheeks heated. He enjoyed her dressing up as a nurse and taking care of every single one of his needs, and he had plenty of them. Of course, his parents didn’t need to know all of what they did in the name of taking care of one another.

Sex had been off the table, but Rome was very expert with his tongue and fingers. He knew how to make her beg and scream for more.

Again, they didn’t need to know the truth.

Andy turned toward his parents, hoping they didn’t see the heat in her cheeks from what he’d implied.

“We’re getting off track here. Andy, did you agree?”

“Yes, I agreed. I’m going to marry your son.” She wrapped her arms around Rome, not the slightest bit mad at him.

Taking care of him had been a pleasure. She loved having around the house.

“And we’re not pregnant,” Rome said. “So, you don’t have to ask or try to get the answer out of us. We’re not pregnant.”

“Oh,” Jane said.

“Try not to be sad about that, my love,” Theodore said. “Congratulations.”

“Are you sure you’re not pregnant?” Jane asked. “Tests can lie.”

“The test has said we’re not, but if you want us to, we can get a doctor’s appointment to prove it.”

“Yes, do that. I want to know if I’m going to be a grandma.” She put a hand to her chest. “You two, you look so adorable together. We have to get Eliza, Lilly. We’re going to be planning this wedding. Now, do you want a Christmas wedding, or a summer wedding?”

“I want to be walking,” Rome said. “Without crutches. When the time comes, I want to walk my bride over the threshold.”

Jane clapped her hands. “Summer wedding it is then.”

Andy laughed, resting her head against Rome’s chest. She had thought they wouldn’t like her or accept her as one of their own, but the Hard family had.

They were so full of love and laughter. It was what she wanted out of her life, and she knew she was going to find it with Rome by her side.

Chapter Ten

Six months later

The doctor had told them the bad news that Andy wasn’t pregnant. That had been six long months ago. Since then, a whole lot had changed. Christmas, New Year’s, and Valentine’s Day had all come and gone.

His parents were planning his wedding, and after he got the all-clear on his leg, he’d spent a long time trying to turn that negative test into a positive.

“You shouldn’t be here,” Andy said, moaning as he kissed his way down her body.

Tomorrow was his and Andy’s wedding day. He should be at home with his dad.

Andy had Eliza, Lilly, and his mother, along with Aunt Betty to keep her company. Everyone had been surprised that Andy hadn’t been properly introduced to Aunt Betty at Christmas, and the two had hit it off straight away.

Since then, his woman had seemed more at peace, like she was happy to belong.

“I know I shouldn’t be here, but there is no keeping me away from my woman.” He trailed his lips to the tops of her breasts. The negligee she wore was sinful. It covered too much, and with a quick tug, he had it over her head and thrown across the room. He cupped her tits, pressing them together. He couldn’t wait until she was pregnant. Her tits were going to be even bigger, and he’d be able to lick and suck at the generous mounds.

His cock was so hard. He’d taken her that morning, but now, the thought of being away from her for an entire night was all just a little too much.

“Rome, you’re going to have to go.” She gasped as he bit down on her nipple.

“Not happening. I haven’t slept a day without you, and I’m not starting now.”

He’d given up his apartment and moved in with Andy. Some of the locals in town thought they were moving too fast. When they didn’t know he could hear them, they gossiped about him. He didn’t care.

As far as he was concerned, when it came to Andy, he wasn’t moving fast enough. He wanted to marry her and have her pregnant.

The sooner the better.

“You’re sure you’re not getting cold feet about marrying an older woman?” she asked.

He moved her toward the bed, spinning her around so that she straddled him.

Andy wrapped her arms around his neck, following his lead.

Rome already had his pants down, his cock out. Staring into her eyes, he rubbed his cock between her slit, loving the way her teeth sank into her lip as she tried to contain her moans.
