Finally, our racing hearts began to slow, and our breathing evened out. I pulled my wife into my arms and cuddled her close, placing a tender kiss on her temple. “I love you, peaches.”

Hazel sighed and snuggled in a little more. “I never tire of hearing you say that.” She kissed my chest and looked up at me with bright, shiny eyes. “I love you, too.”

My skin burned where we touched, and her declaration, which never failed to get me hot, had my somewhat softened dick swelling into a steel rod. I smirked and gave her a wink. “How about we try and get in round two before—”

“Mommy! I’m thirsty!” Lincoln yelled through our bedroom door before knocking a few times.

“You were saying?” Hazel giggled. I glared at her, which only made her laugh even harder. She moved to get out of bed, but I stayed her with a hand on her arm.

“I’ll take care of him, peaches. You rest up because as soon as my boy is asleep again, I’ll be back for round two.”

My voice was dark with promise as I climbed out of bed, and Hazel shivered, licking her lips as her eyes devoured my naked body. I worked hard to stay in shape, not only so I could keep up with my energetic wife and kids, but because it was worth it every time Hazel’s eyes filled with lust when she looked at me. It also made it easier to keep the little shits who ignored her wedding ring from trying anything.

I grabbed a pair of sweats from the dresser and pulled them on before striding to our door and unlocking it. As I opened it, Lincoln stared up at me with eyes narrowed in accusation. “What took so long?” he asked with a dramatic stumble. “I’m parched. I could have died from dehydration. I hope you know.”

I stifled my laugh and desire to roll my eyes and nodded solemnly, instead. “We can’t have that. Who would help Teagan protect your mom and sisters when I’m gone?”

Lincoln’s chest puffed up, and he turned to march toward the kitchen. “Exactly. What would you do without me?” His tone was smug, and since I was facing his back, I didn’t bother to hide my grin.

“I’d be lost, little man,” I told him honestly. Without my family, I would be lost.

Epilogue 4

Hazel

“What did the boys do this time?” Jamie muttered after dropping into a seat across the desk from the elementary school’s principal. We’d been called in to speak with Mrs. Simpson a few times over the five years since Lincoln had started kindergarten here, with Teagan only one year behind him. It’d never been anything major, mostly just boys being boys and they’d gotten off with a warning from the school.

Neither of the boys had gotten into trouble since Charlie had gone to middle school, though. They’d behaved themselves after Jamie had lectured them about setting a good example for their baby sister since her older sister wasn’t in the same school anymore, and the boys took their responsibilities toward her very seriously. The call from Mrs. Simpson this afternoon had been an unwelcome surprise, especially since it’d come while Jamie had been balls deep inside me. I’d just orgasmed the second time, but he hadn’t finished yet. If it’d been anyone other than the school calling, we would have ignored it until he was done. But with our babies in their hands, we dropped whatever we were doing—even sex—and took any and all calls from the school. Even if my hubby was pissed our boys had gotten in trouble again...and beyond cranky because they’d managed to cock block him all the way from school.

“There was an incident on the playground during recess,” Mrs. Simpson replied.

I twisted in my seat and glanced up at the clock on the wall, making my brows wrinkle in confusion because her answer didn’t make any sense. “I don’t understand. It’s too early for the boys to be on the playground. They have recess after lunch.”

Jamie’s back straightened, and he gripped the chair arms so tightly that his knuckles turned white. “London just finished recess. Is she okay?”

“She was present during the incident, but she’s fine,” Mrs. Simpson assured us.

Jamie’s shoulders slumped in relief, and I reached out for his hand. His palm slid against mine, and he gave me a comforting squeeze.

“As you pointed out, Lincoln and Teagan weren’t supposed to be on the playground since it was the recess for first and second grades only. Apparently, they both asked for bathroom passes from their teachers at the same time and headed to the playground instead,” she explained, lacing her fingers together as she rested her forearms on the table. “There was a boy—another first grader but in a different class than London. They went outside to team up against the boy.”
