She told Jensen the same thing, and Jensen was saying all the right words.
“Come on, Cotton Candy,” Chase said, taking his wife’s hand. “You know you want to get to whatever passes for a hotel in this place so you can yell at me.”
Nat gave her husband a grin. “Nah. I’m just going to point out all the things that housekeeping might have missed, and that can be my revenge.”
Chase’s eyes closed. “A proper revenge. The only thing worse than public buffets? Public beds.”
Ben snorted. “Then you can sleep in the car and I’ll play out some hooker fantasies with our wife.”
“Papa,” Harlow protested.
Ben started to lead their wife away. “Nope. If you’re going to talk about sex, then we’re free to as well. I’ll tell you all about what your dad and I are going to do to your mom.”
“I’ll be silent,” Harlow yelled out. She looked to him, a frown on her face. “He’s supposed to be the nice one.”
She was so freaking adorable. He was madly in love with her. And so scared they were about to lose Jensen. He needed to show Jensen that they were together. They were a team. If he could show Jensen how good it could be, maybe he would be more willing to listen in the morning.
“Princess, I think he just doesn’t want to listen to stories about our sex life,” Niall pointed out. “And I do not blame him.”
“Are you okay?” Jensen seemed to relax when he heard the car doors close and the engine come on.
She put a hand on Jensen’s arm, drawing him close. “It was good to talk to my mom. I know it’s dangerous, but…”
Jensen’s head shook, and he leaned over to brush a kiss on her forehead. “I’m glad you got to see her, too. I’m glad they came. It was good to spend time with them, and I’m definitely happy you made up with your dad.”
She sighed and seemed comfortable between them. “Me, too. But it was stressful, and I’m worried and I’m never getting back to sleep. I should talk to Jack.”
That wasn’t happening. “He’s already asleep in the guest room. We’ll talk in the morning. For tonight let’s see if we can get you relaxed.”
“Yes, I think we could all use some comfort.” Jensen’s eyes went soft as he looked down at her. He put his hands on her cheeks. “I want us to be together tonight. I know we had you earlier, but…”
She nodded. “I’m fine. Yes. I want you. I’m ready. Take me to bed and let me get in between you both. Talking to my mom gave me some perspective. I’m afraid and I’m not being brave. It’s easy for me to put my life on the line, but my heart is a different story. I’m going to be brave from now on. I promise.”
“You are brave. You are fucking perfect, Harlow. I’ve always known it. You are smart and capable, and you deserve the absolute best life you can have,” Jensen said.
“The best life is with us.” Niall wasn’t sure what was up with his best friend, but he had the night and tomorrow to work on him. Without Jack around dangling law enforcement promises in front of him, he might have a chance.
Harlow nodded and turned her lips up. “All of us.”
Jensen leaned over and kissed her, practically inhaling her sweetness. Niall watched as his partner drugged their girl with kisses. She was soft and pliant as Jensen picked her up and moved for the door. Arousal started to thrum through his system.
They were going to get her between them and then it would be done. Then their pledge would be made, and Jensen wouldn’t be able to back out. He was being paranoid. Like Harlow, he was letting his fear lead him, and he needed to be brave.
This was going to work because he couldn’t imagine a world without these two people.
He wanted to live this life with them.
He jogged to get ahead of them, opening the door and letting them through. Jensen was focused on the bedroom, but Harlow winked at Niall as they strode by.
He followed them, pulling his shirt over his head as he walked through the living room.
Jack opened the bathroom door and started to walk out and then turned and closed it, obviously not willing to witness his cousin being ravished by the two men who loved her more than life itself.
He prayed Jensen loved her more than his own guilt.
Jensen strode through the door that led to the bedroom they had been sharing for days. He set her on her feet and kissed her, his mouth covering hers, hands pulling her against his body.
Niall moved to the other side. What had been awkward at first now felt normal and natural. He let his hands roam the curves of her body as he kissed the nape of her neck. He breathed her in. He was never going to get tired of this. Of being with them. There was something special about being with the two of them that he wasn’t sure he could replicate on his own. Oh, if anything happened to Jensen, Niall would be right there, taking care of their girl. But he would feel his loss, too.
