“What are you thinking?” Sebastian asks with a beautiful grin on his face.

I’m not about to tell him something stupid like that, so I tell him about another thing that’s always on my mind.

“Puppies.”

“Puppies?”

I laugh at the perplexed expression on his face. “I’m obsessed with getting one.”

“So, why don’t you?”

“My landlord would kill me,” I say with a sad laugh. “I mean come on, how much fuss can a little pug puppy cause?”

“Besides the claws on the hardwood floors and the barking and the accidents.”

“You’re supposed to be on my side,” I say with a grin. “Unless you want to take my landlord George to the party…”

He’s sitting in the big leather seat in front of me with a glass of scotch in his hand. This jet seats about twenty people, but besides the pilots, we’re the only ones here. I wonder about the stewardess, but I don’t ask. Sebastian probably told her to stay home so we could be alone. At least, that’s what I’m thinking in my wishful mind.

“No,” he says with a grin. “I’d much rather have you on my arm, Alina. You’re the most beautiful girl in the world.”

I smile even though it’s just flattery. He could literally be dating anyone. Any stunning model, any gorgeous actress, any cool-as-hell singer. He couldn’t possibly think I’m more beautiful than all of them, but yet… He’s looking at me like that’s exactly what he’s thinking.

The plane is flying at its cruising altitude when Sebastian stands up.

“What are you doing?” I ask when he looks at the galley in the front.

“Something I should have done a long time ago.”

I watch him with interest as he walks over and disappears into the serving area. What is going on?

The lights in the plane turn off and besides the warm glow of the lights of the city down below, I’m plunged into darkness.

Soft music begins to play—The Lady In Red by Chris de Burgh.

I smile as I look down at my red dress.

Twirling, sparkling, lighting like that of a crystal ball fills the plane’s cabin.

I’m shaking my head with a smile on my face as Sebastian walks back out with his hand on his lower back. He’s so handsome. So regal. He’s my past, and my present, and hopefully my future, all rolled into one stunning package.

“Will you dance with me?” he asks, offering his hand. “It’s not prom, but it will have to do.”

I slide my hand into his and stand up. “This is better than prom.”

“Yeah, because that asshole Connor Hartwell isn’t here.”

I laugh. “You won, Sebastian. No need to be jealous anymore.”

We settle into each other’s arms like it’s the most natural and easiest thing in the world. I can’t take my eyes off his as we dance around the empty plane, swaying to the timeless love song.

It’s the most romantic moment of my life. I’ll never forget it.

At the chorus of the song, he slowly spins me. I settle back into his arms and our mouths come together.

I’ve dreamed of kissing this man so many times since before I even hit puberty but it still takes me by surprise.

The delicious way his hands tighten on me—so needy and full of desire. The soft tenderness of his mouth. The low masculine groan as I part my lips and he tastes my tongue.

It’s all better than what I was able to dream up.

I moan as his possessive hands tighten on my waist and he pulls me closer. His body is so big. So hard.

A fire sparks in my core and radiates through me as we stand in the airplane while the song plays, our tongues doing all the dancing now.

I’m breathless when we pull away. My heart is racing.

I look into his beautiful blue eyes and get emotional when I see the way he’s looking down at me. He’s looking at me like I’m all his. Like it’s already settled. I’m his girl and that’s that.

“I should have done that years ago,” he says in a deep growly voice. “I’m sorry it took so long to realize my girl was in front of me all along.”

“Don’t be hard on yourself, Sebastian,” I whisper as I slide my hand up his soft shirt, feeling his hard muscles underneath. “If things had been different, we might not have had this amazing moment. We might not be here right now, together, like this.”

His eyes drop to my lips and I get tingly all over knowing he’s going to kiss me again.

That beautiful mouth descends on me and he kisses me with a little more urgency. A little more passion. My head is spinning as I kiss this gorgeous man while we rocket through the air.

We have a few more hours before we land and this time, we’re not going to waste a second of it.
