“Time heals old wounds.”
She nods and kisses my cheek. “That goes for you, too.”
We finish going through the boxes. There’s a small ribbon from winning a race during field day, and a bouncy ball that I spent more than five dollars on a quarter machine to win. Most of the stuff is junk with a few photos mixed in. “I’m glad you brought these out. I’d built them up in my head, and I didn’t need to.”
She’s holding a stack of photos of me as a kid and the ones of my mom that she particularly liked. “I’m going to put these in an album. One day, your kids will want to see them.”
“My kids?” I scoff. She doesn’t. Sosie’s just staring at me like I’m acting ridiculous. “What?”
“We never did exchange wedding presents.”
Out of left field. “We’ve been busy the past week. But I got you something good.”
That brings a smile to her face. “What is it?”
I grab my phone and pull up the email I meant to print out. Handing it to her, I wait to watch her reaction.
Her eyes widen, and she shoots me a look. “You bought the building?”
“Rent is a waste. You love the apartment, and it works perfectly as your photography space.”
“And a love nest for us.”
Chuckling, I say, “And love nest.”
“You shouldn’t have but it’s an amazing gift. Thank you.” Moving the box, she slips onto my lap to replace it and straddles me. “What am I going to do with you?”
“You’re doing it.” She gets me hard so easily. She’s hot, has a great ass, and fantastic tits. What’s not to love and enjoy about that?
“Do you want your present now or later?”
Sliding my hands up the side of her shirt, I tease, “Oh baby, give it to me.”
She laughs and then pulls something from her back pocket. “You got that right.”
“Got what right?”
Holding a stick in front of my face, she says, “Oh baby is right.”
