"And you look like you're not going to work," I remark, ogling him from head to toe and back again. He's barefoot as he pads to the bed to press a kiss to my forehead. He wanted me in his bed when we arrived home, but the doctor said it would be best if I had space, and that I shouldn’t be disturbed. That brought a blush to my cheeks because it was clear what he meant by that comment.

"I'm going to be practicing with you today," Enzo tells me before stealing my lips with his. His tongue darts into my mouth and we tangle together in a passionate kiss that has my toes curling with pleasure.

I've missed him.

I've been frustrated that we can't do anything, but I know it's not going to be long now.

When Enzo pulls away, I catch the grin on his face because he knows what his kisses do to me. He enjoys taunting and teasing until I'm begging and pleading.

"You're going to therapy with me?" I ask, changing the subject before we can get lured into topics that will only distract me from what I need to focus on.

"Yes." He settles on the bed and grabs a grape, before popping it in his mouth. Happiness warms my chest and I finish my breakfast and allow Enzo to help me get out of bed. He leads me into the adjoining bathroom. Even though I would usually like privacy, having him with me is a relief.

Also, the day after I returned home, he refused to let me be alone for twenty-four hours. The man is a pain in the ass to get rid of, but I love how attentive he is. Being in pain, not having the strength to do certain things alone is frustrating, but Enzo has been by my side through it all.

I recall a conversation we had the second night of me being home.

"I never wanted to be a burden on you," I tell him.

"Like fuck you are," he grits through clenched teeth. His frustration is evident. "You're mine, Luna, and I told you, I'm not walking away, and neither are you."

"Well, I physically can't," I tease, hoping to lighten the mood, but the glower he pins me with has me shrinking back on the bed. Enzo leans in, his face inches from mine and his hand wraps around my throat. I can't deny my body as it responds to his rough touch. Even the pain diminishes when all I see, all I feel is him.

He locks those dark orbs on mine, focused, confident, and commanding. He holds my attention like he's gripping my neck. "You can never leave me."

"What makes you think I won't?" I sass him easily.

"Because the moment you do, I'll hunt you down, drag you back to my house, and tie you to my bed." There's no lie in his words. It's a vow. A promise. I started out as his enemy, and now, I've become someone he cherishes. Someone he really loves.

"Understood." I play coy, but he knows I'll continue to challenge him, and when I'm all healed, he's going to have his hands full. That's my promise.

When I'm done, Enzo helps me into the bedroom where I change into a pair of loose-fitting pants and a fitted tee. We make our way to the studio where we've been doing our walking exercises for the past couple of weeks.

Dr. Peterson along with the physical therapist, Elisa, are standing near the door waiting for us. It's my doctor who smiles and speaks first. "You're looking good, Luna," he says. "I was just telling Elisa you'll be back to your usual self in a couple of weeks. The only thing we need to watch is your dancing. I don't want you doing any jumping, or anything that could put a strain on your back yet."

"Thank you, doctor." A smile curls my lips as relief washes over me. At least he didn't say I can't dance at all. And that's something. "So, I can do anything else?" I test, glancing at Enzo who I can tell wants to know as well. It's been too long, and I do miss him.

Dr. Peterson offers a knowing smile. "Don't tire her out, and don't let her do anything strenuous," he warns Enzo who only chuckles in response. I have a feeling I have an evening of pleasure coming, and I look forward to it. "I better get going. I'd like to see you in my office in the next couple of days for another checkup," he tells me.

"I'll be there. Thank you, doctor." Once he's gone, Enzo grabs my hand and leads me into the studio for my therapy, and I know that one day, he'll take my hand and lead me down the aisle.
