“Logan.”
“Hush.” I lift the back of her dress, then tear her underwear down her thighs, and they catch on her knees as I step forward and free myself fully from my jeans. I don’t even attempt to take it slow. I enter her in one quick thrust, and her head flies back, sending her hair cascading down her back. Grabbing hold of her ass, I start to fuck her hard, the sound of our skin slapping together, my heavy breathing, and hers the only thing I can hear.
“Logan,” she cries when I grab her shoulder and yank her up to her knees, going deeper, harder.
“You need to come, baby,” I growl when her pussy clenches around my cock, causing my balls to draw tight. She does it again, her pussy pulsing, making my knees weak. “Seriously, baby.” I slide my hand between her legs and find her clit with my middle finger.
“Oh god, Logan.” She reaches back for me as her body begins to shake and she comes.
“Thank fuck,” I bite out, grinding my hips into hers before losing myself deep inside of her. Breathing heavy, she falls back against me, going limp and I reach down, grabbing her dress, and lifting it up over her head. I toss it to the floor, then help her get under her blanket before I kick off my jeans and join her.
Rolling into her as she lays her head on my chest, I close my eyes and bury my face in her hair. Even though I’ve seen her every day for weeks and only had her in my arms one night, I miss her sleeping next to me like it’s a limb I lost.
“I want to talk to you about something,” I say after a few minutes.
“What's that?” she asks, sounding a little sleepy.
“How do you feel about you and Zuri staying over Saturday?” I ask, and can tell by the way her body stiffens, she's caught off-guard by the question.
“I don’t know,” she mumbles. “Don’t you think it’s a little too soon for that?”
“Do you?”
“I’m not sure, I guess I haven’t really thought about it.” She leans back so she can look at me. “How do you think Billie and Cooper would feel about us staying the night?”
“You two are over every day after school and stay until after dinner. I’m not sure they’d really think much about it.”
“But all of us having dinner together is a lot different than Zuri and me sleeping over.”
“How about you talk to Zuri? I’ll talk to Billie and Coop and see how they feel.”
“Okay,” she agrees, worrying the inside of her cheek.
“It’s going to happen eventually, baby,” I slide a chunk of her hair behind her ear. “And as much as I’ve loved our daytime hookups recently and having you at my place in the evenings, I want you in my bed.”
“It’s not that I don’t want that too, it’s just we both have kids, and I don’t want any of them uncomfortable.” She pulls her eyes from mine and shakes her head. “And what if we get our lives all tangled up together and this ends?” She pauses, taking a breath, while my gut clenches. “That’s just going to make it harder for everyone.”
“I want my life tangled up with yours.” I take hold of her jaw. “And I don’t know about you, but I don’t see this ending.”
“Yeah, but you don’t know what might happen. You could decide that you hate that I can’t really cook and that my hair is always clogging the drain and that I’m okay with leaving dishes in the sink for more than a few minutes, which is something I know drives you crazy.”
“I don’t mind cooking, Drain-O is available at the grocery store, and I don’t give a fuck about dishes in the sink.” She raises a brow. “Okay, let me clarify that. I do think it’s important for the kids to clean up after themselves, and it doesn’t take much for them to rinse their dishes and put them in the dishwasher.”
“Immediately,” she says with a small smirk.
“Yes, immediately.” I lean in and touch my mouth to hers, but keep hold of her jaw as I continue. “We could talk about what ifs all day long. The thing is, I can’t predict the future, and neither can you. The only thing I do know is that I have never been happier in my life, and I’m willing to navigate things even if they are complicated to get us to a place where our kids are comfortable being around each other all the time.”
“I guess it’s something we can talk to them about. But…” She cuts me off before I can get my mouth fully open. “If any of them say that they are not okay with it, or that they are uncomfortable, we don’t attempt to talk them around or pressure them into agreeing to anything.”
