“You chasing me, Caterpillar?” She bites her lip as she leans down through my window, and I reach up without even thinking and pull it free.
“No,” she answers as my fingers fall from her lips. “I lost something, but—”
“What did you lose?”
She touches her neck. “My necklace.”
“Hmm…”
She looks around the deserted street. All the businesses are closed, and our cars are the only ones still here.
“Where are you going?” I ask. Did she stay at the house last night with him? Is she back with him? I don’t even know why I want to know any of this.
She shrugs, then rises and stands back. A distant expression clouds her face.
“I take it you left him.” Those eyes come back to me, devoid of any spark of life.
“Yes. I was never going to stay, but until I watched him fuck that bitch, I didn’t realize how unhappy I was.” She says it with such hardness as if I were a fool to suggest otherwise. But there’s something hidden there. A secret loneliness. Or the look of someone a little lost.
“Come with me. I’m flying to Nashville for work.”
Fuck.
Her rich brown gaze narrows on me, not in surprise at the invitation but in suspicion.
Why did I invite her?
I never invite women anywhere. Never allow them into any part of my life, especially this part.
But this one…
“My car and my things…” she says, pointing behind me.
“Follow me, and you can leave it at the airport.”
“You don’t plan to kill me, do you?” She leans down and looks me dead in the eye, and I’m taken aback by her words. “Because I may like it.” I think my cock just got hard at her words. Lilith stands without saying anything more and walks back to her car. I start mine up, and she follows me all the way to the airfield.
When I park, she parks next to me. The plane is already up and running by the time we arrive. Walking up to Lilith, I offer her my hand, but she doesn’t reach for it. Instead, she fixates on the white six-seater plane I plan to pilot.
“I’ve never been to Nashville.” She runs her fingers through her copper-colored hair, and as she does, the shirt she has on rides up. I catch a glimpse of her bare skin and can’t look away.
“Reon.”
“Yes?”
“Do you plan to fuck me on that plane?” She nods in its direction.
“Yes. While I’m flying it.” I grab her bag from the back seat and head for the plane. At first, I don’t hear her footsteps behind me, and when I turn around, she is chewing on her bottom lip, weighing her options. “Caterpillar. Come on.”
“Are you sure you want me to join you? I’m not the fuck and forget, easy-going woman you may think I am. You may tire of the dark thoughts that overrun my mind. They don’t stop. They never stop. I’ve accepted the fact, but it’s one thing my husband truly hated about me,” she yells as her voice starts to get drowned out by the machines on the tarmac.
“Okay.” I’m unsure of what else to say to her. Women don’t open up to me. Shit, I tend to gag them when I fuck them, and then I leave.
Yet here I am, inviting her to go away with me for work after one night together.
And carrying her fucking bag, at that, while she screams at me about how bad her thoughts are.
“I’m not normal,” she states matter-of-factly.
“What even is normal?” I turn and keep walking toward the stairs leading to the plane’s door. I feel her get closer, and when we reach the stairs, I wave for her to go first. I follow, staring at her magnificent ass and the way she holds herself—pure fucking perfection.
I take her to the cockpit, sit her down in the co-pilot’s chair, and lean over her to buckle her up.
“Are you really going to fly us?” she asks.
“Yes.”
“How?”
“Well, see that seat there? That’s the pilot seat. I’ll be—”
“That’s not what I meant. Who taught you to fly? Can you be trusted with my life? I don’t even know you. I might like the idea of death, but not my own.” If I weren’t looking at her, I would think she is worried. But I can see she is anything but concerned that she might die. No, instead, a sparkle in her eyes brightened when she mentioned trusting me with her life.
“You didn’t know me when you invited me into your home and let my cock slide into you.”
“I was angry at my husband, and you seemed like the perfectly delicious solution.” As she says it, she licks her lips.
“Still want me to fuck you even without the potential of your husband walking in?”
Lilith nods. “If you choke me again, sure, why not?” She shrugs.
