His cock sinks in to the hilt.

I moan, back arching. Shit, that feels so fucking good. I’m right on the edge, my brain a fried mess of degraded longing and lust. He slams into me again, and again, telling me how beautiful I am with his cock choking me, and that’s enough to make me break.

I shatter all over his dick. I come so hard I nearly black out. He keeps ripping into me again and again, fucking me savagely, calling me his little slut, until I feel him stiffen and fill me to the brim.

I’m left gasping for air. I blink rapidly, staring at the wall, and for a second, I think he’s leaving me there. But then I feel him gently cut off the zip tie and release my wrists.

“That’s a good girl,” he says, pulling me into his arms. He carries me to the couch, and we lower down together, me cradled in his lap. “You did very, very good, Lucy. So fucking good. You’re such a good girl.” He strokes me softly and kisses my neck, his strong, warm arms holding me tight.

The whiplash breaks my brain, and I start sobbing in earnest.

Mouth fucked, throat choked, hands tied, I could handle all that.

But holding me? Telling me I’m good after all that? Stroking my hair and being so gentle?

“I’m sorry,” I sob and bury my face in his chest. “I don’t know why I’m reacting this way.”

“It’s okay, baby, let it out.” He holds me tighter, rubbing my back in small circles. “It’s just the emotions hitting you, that’s all. But I need you to know it’s okay. You’re okay. You’re safe. You’re so beautiful and good. You don’t have to worry.”

I nod against him, struggling to get control. After a few minutes, I manage to calm down, until finally, I pull back.

He cleans me with tissues. It’s so soft and caring. He looks at me like I’m special, and I don’t know how to connect the dark, brutal angel I saw downstairs with this man.

“I guess that was unexpected,” I say, smiling a little bit.

“Maybe to you, but I knew what I wanted the second I saw you back in my club.” His smile is soft as he puts me down on the couch. He goes over, gets my panties, and helps me put them back on. Then he goes and fixes two drinks.

I sip the whiskey. It helps me level out.

“Did you have that zip tie in your desk waiting for me?” I ask when he sits back down.

“I always have at least one on hand.” His smile fades, replaced by that cold scowl again. “Now I owe you a little truth.”

I sit up straight. This is why I came here. Or maybe I already got what I actually needed. “What did my grandmother do?”

“She took money from some very bad people. Their organization is called the Gray Wolf. They’re a Turkish crime syndicate that specializes in black market artifacts. A lot of people in your world know them and traffic in their stolen treasures. I don’t know why, but your grandmother must’ve taken out a sizable loan.”

I try to process that. Gray Wolf, Turkish criminals, stolen artifacts. It sounds like something from a movie.

Except it feels vaguely familiar.

Not the black market stuff, but the borrowed money.

“We’ve been having financial problems,” I say, looking down at my drink. I slowly shake the ice and let it rattle against the glass. “It was bad enough that even I realized something was going on. But then it went away. Our finances stabilized. My brother stopped stressing so much.” I meet Adriano’s gaze. “That must’ve been when she took the loan.”

“That could be,” he admits. “Their leader, Demir Yilmaz, came to warn me away from getting involved with your family. He didn’t seem happy about our relationship.”

I frown a little and shake my head. “I have no clue why.”

“I doubt it’s only about money. Demir knows I can pay him back if that’s all it takes. I suspect your grandmother knows the truth, but she didn’t say anything.”

An ugly thought occurs to me. “Does that mean you’re not going to—”

“Nobody alive can change my mind with a threat. If I want to marry you, I will.”

I have to look away again. The intensity of the way he’s looking at me sends shivers down my spine. “I guess this is really happening.”

He comes over and pulls me to my feet. Then he lightly brushes his lips against mine.

“This is happening,” he says with a vicious smile. It’s terrifying and arousing, and I feel myself tumbling, free-falling through horror and excitement.

I extract myself and make excuses. My head’s full, and I don’t want to stay out too late. “I need to get back before my grandmother notices.”

“Luca will drive you this time.” His face hardens when I open my mouth to protest. “He will drive you. No excuses.”
