“That was—”

A pounding on the door cut Weston off.

“The entire church is waiting,” Crossland said in a sing-song voice through the closed door.

“In a minute!” Weston hollered back before we both laughed.

“Seriously, you two,” Crossland grumbled. “It’s not like you don’t see each other every fucking day.” He laughed before we heard him walk off.

“I feel sorry for him,” Weston said, reaching around me to clean us both up before settling me back on my heels.

“Why?” I asked, stepping back into the lace as Weston helped slip them back on.

“Because,” he said, fully standing to look down at me. “He doesn’t know what it’s like to love someone as much as I love you. Doesn’t know the need that comes with this kind of love.”

My heart expanded in my chest, filling every inch of my soul with pure happiness.

Weston took my hand. “Are you ready to marry me now?”

I grinned up at him. “After that little speech? Absolutely.”

He laughed. “But not before?”

“Then, now, always,” I said, and he leaned down, kissing me again. I melted all over again, then pulled away. “If you keep doing that, we’ll never make it to the alter.”

“You think we can speed through the proceedings?” he asked. “If not, I’m going to have to fuck you at the reception too.”

“Oh,” I said, glancing up at him. “I can’t wait for the reception then.”

He laughed. “I can’t wait to marry you.”

“I can’t wait to marry you,” I echoed his sentiment.

He opened the door, and I tried not to blush when we spotted Crossland down the hall.

“I’ll see you out there,” Weston whispered into my ear before joining Crossland and disappearing around the corner.

I could barely wait for the music to start, signaling that it was time for me to walk down the aisle. I was too excited to start the rest of my forever. And when I rounded the corner, finding Weston at the alter waiting for me, I knew that forever would never be enough time with him.

But it was a start.

THE END
