“Breathe, Sunshine.”

I take a breath, and just as I exhale, a finger dives into me. My eyes fly open as I slam my hands on either side of my hips, my body clenching, and my knees knocking together.

He’s smiling at me with a brow raised. “Are you okay?”

My swallow is so loud, I’m sure he can hear it, and the nerves that have returned. “I’m okay.” I lie. I’m caught between panic and the need for him to move a little.

“I might,” he starts, shifting his weight, “be losing blood to my hand.” His other hand reaches for my chin, and he runs his fingers along my jaw. “Take another breath for me and try to relax your legs. Can you do that for me, Summer?”

“I can do that.” I don’t know if I can. “I think.”

Leaning closer to my head, he nuzzles my cheek, his tone lower, gentler. “No, you can. You’re ready. Look at you opening for me, and so aroused. I want to taste you, Sunshine.”

“It’s been a long time,” I whisper, wishing I still had the confidence from a few minutes ago when I asked for his help.

“D4. I remember.” He nibbles at the lobe of my ear, and the shock of it sends ripples of pleasure through my body, pebbling the skin exposed above water, and loosening the tight muscles gripping his hand. “That’s it.”

I can feel his smile against my cheek, but he doesn’t immediately move his hand. Instead, his thumb finds the bundle of nerves, and he gently glides it over my clit. His other hand reaches for my chin, turning my attention back to him.

“Who needs hands for hockey?” he says, unable to stop his smile or evoking mine, causing me to melt into him.

His smirk is cocky, like he knows exactly how to give me what I need. I can choose to trust him, to take the leap, but I also know he would stop if I asked.

The tip of his finger runs gently around my entrance, teasing my clit before dipping lower again. This time, his eyes stay locked on mine as he slides into me.

I need to see him too much to close my eyes again. Pulling out and moving in again. When I reopen my eyes, I’m not met with his browns like I expect. I catch him in a moment with his eyes closed and mouth open as his breathing jags and his chest rises. In a quick fall, he exhales, opening his eyes and latching onto mine. “You’re so fucking tight.”

He pushes into me faster, and I find my hips moving to meet each thrust. The water splashes, but he feels too good to care. The flick of his thumb against my clit makes me jump, but the soothing pressure right after has me sinking back into pleasure. Until it becomes too much. His pace, the care, the tease, and the gentle pinch send me into my head, pulling me away from here and the feel of Daniel consuming me.

“You’re stunning,” he groans. “Taking my fingers so perfectly.”

“So good,” I utter as I chase the euphoria and succumb to the rapture. My thoughts dull as a current of electricity sparks every nerve ending to life again, leaving me sinking into the tub until I breathe a sigh of relief. I lick my lips as my head rolls to the left to look at him. “That was amazing.”

His hand travels over my hip and holds my side. Leaning over, he kisses me with reverence in the pressure. When he’s staring into my eyes, he whispers, “It was incredible to feel you wrapped around me, and to watch you come.” Kissing my forehead, he sits back. “It was amazing.” He stands and reaches for the towel hanging nearby.

It’s hard to miss his erection, and he doesn’t try to hide it one bit. He also doesn’t ask me to return the favor even though I’d be more than happy to. He places the towel over the faucet and says, “You need anything?”

“No. I’m all good.” And smiling like a fool.

“I’m going to head down and get a glass of water.” He’s already in the doorway when he looks back. “I also want to see if the rumors of the magical cookies are true. I’m stealing one if it is.”

I’m too happy to contain the laugh that’s itching to come out. “Grab me one if you do.”

As soon as I hear the bedroom door close, I lie back with my arms wide. “So this is what heaven is like.”

There’s still much to work out on a professional level with this deal we’ve struck, including a call to Mrs. Dover first thing in the morning. On a personal level, though, I’ve never been happier.

CHAPTER 16

DANIEL

“Your middle name is Sky?” I rub her back, holding her in my arms in bed. “Summer Sky Season?” It probably shouldn’t surprise me anymore. “Your parents went all in.”
