“They will. They’ll love you.”

Just like with everything else recently, I put my trust in Kason. “Yes.”

He falls asleep before me, a sweet smile on his face, and as much as I want to drift off with him, all I can think about is how excited I am about what I just agreed to do. Scared out of my mind? Of course. But excited too.

I slip out of bed, grab my phone, and close myself in the bathroom. I don’t think I’ll be able to rest until I share this with my friends.

Me: I’m going to Milwaukee to meet Kason’s family this weekend. I’m…feeling a million things. I don’t know where to start.

I’m happy. Happier than I’ve ever been.

Hayes: Oh my God! That’s great! I was soooo nervous to meet Rylan’s parents, but it went great. I know it’ll turn out great for you too!

Donovan: I’m so happy for you! They’re going to love you!

I really hope so. All I know is I’m honored he asked me and grateful I have my friends to share it with.

CHAPTER NINETEEN

Kason

“I wish you didn’t have to go to work today.” I’m lying between Anthony’s legs after a wake-up blowjob I gave him, his cock soft against his thigh and the taste of his cum on my tongue. He’s spent two nights in a row with me, just like he promised, and yesterday we didn’t leave my house at all—and my bed very rarely. We spent a lot of it talking, cuddling, watching our shows, and losing ourselves in each other’s bodies. We mostly only stopped for yoga, food, and bathing.

“I just have my private lessons with Makayla and then Justin this morning. Then tonight I’ll be gone longer when I go to Lush. I also need to try and get my shifts covered for the weekend.”

I grin. “Because my super sweet and sexy boyfriend is going home with me to meet my family.”

He bites his bottom lip and nods.

“Talk to me about Makayla,” I tell him, changing the subject.

His face lights up. “I’ve been working with her for about two years now. I really wanted to work with kids, but on my own terms, if that makes sense.”

“It does.” I rest my chin on his belly, looking up at him.

“I rent space in a studio part-time and teach a few kids private lessons there. I do it at low cost so kids who might not be able to take dance lessons are able to do so. She’s great. I think she loves dancing as much as I do. She lost her dad a while back, and I really think dancing helped her make it through.”

I can’t hide my smile.

“What?” he asks.

“You’re just very sweet.”

Anthony rolls his eyes. “I know you are but what am I?” he teases.

“My boyfriend.” I push up and kiss him. “I like working with kids too. Remember I told you Rylan and I volunteer at a hockey youth center? You should come with me sometime.”

He seems to hesitate, and I wonder if he’ll come up with a reason why he doesn’t belong there. I’m pleasantly surprised when he says, “I can do that.”

“Good.”

“Do you want to come with me today? You can if you want. I have Makayla at eleven and Justin after that. Then we can…do lunch?”

I straddle his lap. “Why, Anthony Damiani. Are you asking me on a date?”

“Ew. No way.”

“Well, that’s not very nice.” I nip his lip.

“Ouch. And yes. I’m asking you on a date.”

Which is a big step for him. When we first started dating, he had no idea it was even happening, and ever since, he’s rarely wanted to go out in public with me in case photographers followed or someone recognized me. “I would love to go out with you.”

“You’re such a dork.”

“Your dork.” I press another kiss to his lips, then jump off the bed. “Come on. Yoga, shower, then breakfast. We have shit to do today, baby!”

He laughs. “My dork, indeed.”

*

We get to the studio early. I sit in one of the chairs, out of the way, while Anthony stretches and waits for Makayla and her mom, Chelsea, to arrive. He’s so beautiful out there…and bendy. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t notice that. He’s lost in concentration already as he moves into what I assume are warm-up positions. I could watch him all day. Actually, there are about a million things I could do with him all day every day. I just like Anthony and always want to be with him.

The door opens, and a Black woman and child walk in. Makayla glows when she sees Anthony, and when I look at him, he’s doing the same.

“Hey, you,” he tells her as they walk over to him.

“Hi, Mr. Anthony.” The little girl gives him a hug. I’m surprised when Chelsea does as well. They talk for a moment, and when Chelsea notices me, she looks at Anthony with a smile, cocking a brow.
