“Fuck yeah, it is. It’ll be even better when I get this off my chest.” Dean’s job is well known for traveling; it’s part of the life, and he forewarned me from the very beginning that it could mean they’d move him to another city or even state. It was a hard pill to swallow, but I did, then put my big girl panties on and told him where he goes, I’ll go, if given the option.

“What’s that?” I ask. His hands paw the cheeks of my ass. The ridge of his cock slides along the seam of my pants, and I’m left with the only option. I slowly undulate my hips, and pleasure takes hold. We really might need to move this into the parts room.

“I love you, Kara. Been on my mind for some time now. Tired of thinking it might be too soon to tell you. So, I’m saying it now, putting it out there for you. That means one day, you’ll have my ring, my last name, and as many dogs as you want.” I’ve told Dean that I wasn’t sure if kids were something I wanted in my future. He didn’t ask why, only said, “Whatever you want, wherever you want, it’s yours.”

“I love you, too, Dean. I love you so, so much.” This time, he doesn’t let me get another word out. His mouth is on mine, our tongues are tangling, and the outside world melts away.

Until it doesn’t.

“Jesus, fuck, we’re all fucked. Jace is here, and he’s on a tear. Shit is about to hit the fan.” Dean lets me go, and I slide down the length of his body, an unfortunate occurrence because it does absolutely nothing to calm the raging inferno building inside of me.

“Umm, mind if I take the afternoon off?” I ask, not due to the fact that Jace is here and having a shit fit; that’s their own problem. I want my man, and I want him alone as soon as possible.

“Go on, get outta here. I’ll keep Scout until Nellie has her snack and does her homework, then we’ll drop him off,” Colt says in a tone that tells us to take it out of the shop and away from his eyes before things get too hot.

“Thanks, big brother. I owe you.” Dean laces his fingers with mine and leads the way out of the office. I don’t know how we’ll get home or in whose vehicle, but it doesn’t matter as long as we get there as soon as possible.

KARA

THREE MONTHS LATER

“How did I accumulate so much stuff in a short amount of time?” I ask Dean once everything is moved from our apartments into the cute three-bedroom, one-bathroom home with a spacious backyard for Scout. We were both tired of having to leash Scout to take him outside, and Dean would never let me take the evening shifts on my own.

If Scout had an upset stomach in the middle of the night. Forget it. He would go with me, or I would stay inside. We both grumbled, and since his job has changed, the lease on his apartment could be broken, which meant we only had to deal with mine. Dean wouldn’t let me pay the fee. Shocking, I know. Between him, my brother, and my father, the overprotectiveness and taking care of me is a top-notch priority in their eyes.

“Sweetheart, it’s both of ours. We need to weed out the extras, keep what’s better quality, which is more than likely yours, and we’ll donate the rest.” I look at the mounds of boxes, the haphazardly placed furniture, and the mountains of clothes put on top of whatever surface is available. Our friends and family offered to help us unpack everything, but it’d be impossible to figure out where it would all go until we sorted through the mess.

“Yeah, you’re right.” I shrug my shoulders, about to dive into the task of at least getting the kitchen sorted, when Dean’s arms wrap around my waist from behind. His chin rests on my shoulder, and the slightly rough texture of his beard abrades my neck in the most delicious way possible.

“This can wait. Come out back with me, sweetheart. I’ve got a surprise for you.” I turn in his arms, his hands slide down the length of my body, cupping my ass, and I interpret it as a memo that’s loud and clear. My legs wrap around his waist, he hauls us through the living room and the small dining area that’s off the kitchen and opens the sliding glass door without breaking a sweat.

This man tosses me around as if I’m light as a feather, even though I’m not. I carry my weight well, hidden beneath clothes that fit in a flowy way. I also still swim as much as possible, which has given me added muscle. Another plus with the home we’re settling into now is that it has a pool, and even though Scout wants no part of it, I hope that will change one day the more I’m in it. After this morning's swim, during which Scout ran the length of the pool, back and forth, barking and pawing at the waves I made, I think it won’t be long until he’s swimming with me.
