My arms tighten around his shoulders, and his lips touch mine.
It’s brief and so gentle. I’m just about to exhale when he kisses me again. This time, he tilts my head and presses his mouth harder. His tongue touches mine, and there’s no holding back my moan.
He smiles against my lips. “Fuck. I knew kissing you would change my life.”
Before I can ask him what that means, he kisses me again. My body melts against his, and I feel his erection pressing against his jeans. The way I’m straddling him has him right against my center, and I rock against him before I can stop myself.
The friction makes my whole body tighten. “Yes,” I moan.
He pulls back and stares at me with wide eyes. “Fuck,” he groans.
I know exactly what he means. He tilts my head to the side and presses his mouth to my neck. My nipples harden, and I press my chest against his. I’m breathless as he kisses along my neck and collarbone. When his tongue slides across my skin, my whole body tenses. Can a woman come just from having her neck licked? I’m starting to think so.
My hand slips between us, and I cup the hard length of him through his jeans. His body jerks, and he stops kissing me to look into my eyes.
I quickly pull my hand away. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have done that.”
He shakes his head. “Don’t apologize. You can touch me anytime you want.”
I giggle. “Anytime, huh?”
He opens his mouth, but before he can answer, a loud buzzing sound goes off, and we both freeze. I move back into my chair as Guy pulls his phone from his pocket. He looks at the screen and swears before turning off the alarm. “Shit. I have to go. I have a plane to catch.”
There’s no hiding my disappointment. “Oh. Right.”
I start to stand, but he pulls me back onto his lap. “I don’t want to go, and I want to see you again.”
I bunch the front of his shirt in my fist. “Really?”
He holds out his hand. “Give me your phone.”
I lean over and pull it from my purse. As soon as I hand it to him, he starts typing in his contact information. His phone starts to ring but stops instantly, and he doesn’t even look at it.
He holds my phone out to me, but when I reach for it, he doesn’t let go. “I don’t want to go.”
I shrug. “I get it. You have a plane to catch.”
He cups my cheek. “Yeah, but it’s important to me that you know I don’t want to leave. Not now, when we’re just getting to know each other.”
I tug on my phone again. He holds it for another second before finally letting go. “When I get back to town, I want to see you.”
I stand, and this time he lets me. “Uh, I’m not sure that’s a great idea.”
He stands too and places his hand on my waist. “What do you mean? You were there for the kiss too. You have to know that was something special.”
I refuse to let myself get my hopes up. “Yeah, it felt good.”
He jerks. “Good? Honey, that was the best kiss I’ve ever had.”
I search his eyes and see the sincerity there. I’m about to tell him exactly why we can’t be together, but he shakes his head. “I’m not leaving here until you promise me that we can see each other again.”
We don’t have time to get into all this here, so I nod. “Okay.” I lower my head and start to walk away.
He catches up with me. “That’s it?”
I lift one shoulder. “I don’t know what else you want me to say.”
He puts his hand on my shoulder and turns me toward him. “Say you want to see me too.”
I roll my eyes. “Of course I do, but I have zero expectations.”
He looks at me, waiting.
I shrug my shoulders, trying to be cool about all this. “I was looking for a one-night stand tonight. I’m not expecting anything more than that.”
He slides both hands to my waist and pulls me flush against his body. “I want more than one night and one kiss from you.”
My hands move up his chest. “That was more than one kiss.”
He rests his forehead against mine. “I know.” His eyes close for a second before he pulls back. “I’ll call you when I get back.”
I nod, and he takes a step away, threading our fingers together. “Come on. I’ll walk you to your room.”
“I can—”
“Nope. I’m making sure you get there safely and then I’m getting on the road.”
I nod. “I’m on the third floor.”
We walk back inside and toward the elevators. Neither of us says anything on the ride down. When the doors open on the third floor, I point down the hallway. “I’m this way.”
