“Nobody said you were stupid,” Boss grunts. He’s been trying to gore Kronos with his horns. I can see a few long scratches on the barbarian, and Boss’ horns are tipped with blood. He’s absolutely savage when he wants to be. My stomach does that horrible flippy clenching thing again as I realize he might actually kill Kronos over this.
“You don’t fight over me,” I tell them. “You fight for me.”
“What do you mean?” Kronos grunts, pushing Boss away from him so his horns don’t penetrate his chest.
I kick Boss in the shoulder. Not hard. Hard enough to get his attention. “Get off him,” I say. “And do it slowly, or I’ll use this on you. I hate this. I hate what you’re doing.”
My voice trembles with enough emotion that I at least come across as unstable, which is useful on this occasion. Nobody wants to mess with an emotional woman holding an atomic sword.
“Get. Off. Him,” I snap, when Boss doesn’t move quickly enough for my liking.
Boss shifts a little. They’re both still beneath me. I have a foot on each of them. But the conflict is at an end, and they both look a little ashamed, if I am reading them correctly.
“Don’t ever do this again,” I growl down at them. “I hate it. It makes me want to cry. Is this why you followed me around the galaxy all this time? So you could be the first to knock me up? Is that all I am to you?”
Now they really look ashamed.
“Pet…”
“Shut up,” I snap at Kronos. “I didn’t ask you to talk.”
“You did ask us a question,” Boss has the nerve to point out.
“It was rhetorical,” I say.
They stop talking and just look at me. It’s almost cute, these two massive aliens who are absolutely charged with uncontrollable lust for me, now looking as if they’ve been smacked on the hand for their misbehavior.
“Don’t get used to this,” Sharp purrs behind me.
“Used to what?”
“I can see your little dominant glee,” he says, his tone warm. “But it’s not going to be the way things are around here. The second I get my sword back from you, you and I are going to have a reckoning.”
“I don’t care. It was worth it to stop this stupid fight,” I say, doubling down on my misbehavior. “We have things we need to talk about anyway. Like the fact that I’m not giving up my main mission just because I have my memories back. Humans and aliens are still going to try to traffic the wild caught women. I’m going to keep doing my best to save them at all costs. Maybe I’ll have babies and maybe I fucking won’t, but if you ever fight like this again, I won’t warn you. I’ll take something from you that will have to be surgically reattached.”
All three of my mates are staring at me.
“What?” I laugh. “Did you think you were in charge? You all want me. You all chased me. You need me. If you’re fucking me, it’s because I let you. If I have a baby for any of you, it’s because I want to. None of you are in charge. I am. I always have been.”
They snort and look at one another. They’re not taking me seriously. They’re not moving much either, because they know that getting up suddenly could cause me to slash a strategic bit right out of them. Sharp’s sword is the kind of weapon that engenders respect no matter who holds it.
“Alright, pet, we understand. You don’t want us to fight over you,” Boss says. “But this was between Kronos and me. It’s not entirely about you. It’s about…”
“Dick measuring? Sharp wins. He’s got two of them.”
Sharp chuckles behind me.
“I don’t want you thinking that you own me. I might be your pet, but I own you. All of you. I chose you. I came for you when they were coming for you. So I’m in charge. Get it?”
Before they can tell me what I want to hear, Sharp takes the risk of wrapping an arm around my waist, grabbing my hand and lifting me up and away from the other two. He powers the sword down, returns it to his belt, and pulls me into a tight hug.
“You’re adorable,” he says. “And you are in so much trouble.”
Boss and Kronos get up. Now I am surrounded by large alien males, two of whom I just threatened with all sorts of horrible things.
“I shouldn’t have taken her off on my own, I guess,” Kronos says. “There’s never been any agreement against it. There’s a simple solution to this disagreement anyway. You can just fuck her as well. Breed her like I did. Let our seed determine which of us breeds her first.”
“You exhausted her past the point of being able to take any more,” Sharp says, stroking my hair. I press close to him. I know he’s going to punish me for the whole sword thing, but not right now. Right now he knows I am still sore from the relentless ravaging Kronos put me through.
