“Okay. I love you.”

“I love you, too.” The call ends just as Dario lets out a growl, rubbing his length against my core, hips meeting millimeters from entering me with every little thrust. He’s staring up at me, dark, beautiful eyes intent and full of desire.

He stops and climbs off the bed and away from me, boxers tented. “Amore mia, it’s time to prepare for the judge.”

“I thought—”

“I’ll take you once you’re my wife.” He walks into the bathroom, and my heart does a pitter-patter like a silly little girl. He comes out a few moments later. “I’m going to prepare for the wedding in another room and have breakfast brought up to you while Mrs. Ricci helps you with your needs, including a dress.”

“Are you serious? Do we really need all of this for a fake wedding?”

He slides up behind me, holding me tight. “Amore, must I remind you that nothing about this will be fake?” he says, grinding his massive cock against my ass. Oh hell, I find myself pushing my butt back against the pressure. “See, you want it almost as much as I do. So be a good girl. I can’t wait to see you in your dress before I tear it off.” He steps back and slaps my ass.

I let out a gasp and then he goes off to his closet. He comes out about five minutes later with a pair of slacks and a dress shirt on, looking handsome as hell, carrying a garment bag over his shoulder.

“I’ll see you soon, my bride.” His mouth lands on mine, kissing me roughly. “Fuck, May…this is going to be one long damn hour.” He stands straight, needing to adjust himself because his cock is rock hard. I ache to reach out and touch it, but now isn’t the time. “Later,” he groans. I thought he could read my expression, but then I see him looking down at his pants, telling himself to behave.

Giggling, I watch him walk out of the room, grumbling.

I stand up and use the bathroom, checking my appearance. Last night I’d gotten so clean in his epic shower, but now I notice all the female shampoos and products. They were scents I use, but they weren’t the brands because I couldn’t afford the stuff he has, but it’s wonderful. There are also other hairstyling tools I would have at home. Had he gotten those for me, and how did he know what to get? Or, are some of these leftovers from an ex?

When I come out of the bathroom, there is a knock at the door.

“Come in.”

An older woman comes inside, and I’m guessing this is the woman he mentioned. “Good morning, Mrs. Conti. I’m Mrs. Ricci.”

“I’m not married yet,” I say, feeling perturbed about the female products in the bathroom.

“Yes, but you will be, and it’s best that I familiarize myself with calling you that now.”

“Has he had other wives before me?” I blurt out, unable to fight the fit of jealousy.

“No. Why would you think such a thing?” she asks me, gauging my question.

“There are feminine things in the bathroom and the closet.”

A warm smile spreads across her face. “He has been preparing for your arrival this week.”

“Oh.”

“Here is your breakfast. Please, eat something.”

“I don’t have much of an appetite.”

“Nervous?”

“I don’t eat a lot most days. I think it’s my schedule, but yes, it’s the jitters, I suppose.” I take a bite of the toast and then a drink of orange juice.

“We need to get you into a pretty dress. There are several to choose from.” She opens the door and has a man wheel in a large rack of dresses. He quickly departs, never looking up at me. I’m floored by the choices. Most are white, but there are two pale pink ones included.

“Did he pick them as well?” I ask.

“No. It would be bad luck for him to see them, so he suggested that I select them.”

“They’re so beautiful. I can’t believe I’m doing this.” My sister and bestie should be here, but if they were, they’d talk me out of it. Dario has no intention of letting me get away, and I don’t want to run. It’s wrong to marry a man like Dario, and yet it feels so right.

“We must hurry. The judge will arrive in five minutes, and then Dario will grow even more impatient.”

“Do you think he’d hurt me?”

“No, but he’d marry you in that robe.”

A giggle escapes. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to laugh, but there’s just something funny about him carrying me off in this fluffy robe to get married.”

“There’s nothing funny. Hurry up, amore.” Dario walks into the room with his hands over his eyes.

“Ugh, you need to be downstairs,” Mrs. Ricci says, scolding Dario.

“I need my bride ready, and you not talking her ear off.”
