"Come on, man. Think about it."

"Back to the handcuffs.”

“Alright.”

“The first CMC actually controls where the next joint goes.”

“Okay.”

“As the first metacarpal rolls over the socket created by the carpal bones at the CMC joint, the first metacarpal will possibly bring the second metacarpal with it.”

I had no idea what he was talking about. I was just ready to break shit on his hand to get it out of the cuffs. "Sure. Sounds good to me."

“So. . .in theory, dislocating the first CMC could possibly shift the whole first metacarpal out of place.”

“There we go. Give me your hand.”

“But, the rest of the thumb would pose a problem.”

“Then, we’ll just break that shit up too.”

Jean-Pierre glared.

“I’m just saying.”

The brown door opened. Timur stepped into the church with the AK-47. Blood now coated the middle of his chest down to his feet.

All hope left me.

Timur walked toward us, leaving a trail of bloody footsteps behind him in the dirt floor.

“Uh.” I cleared my throat. “Where’s Boris?”

Still several feet away, Timur headed over with a warm smile on his face. “Our new brother is with the Big Eagle in the sky.”

Does that mean he’s dead?

My heart ached.

Damn, man. Shit just keeps getting worse and worse.

I looked at Jean-Pierre and whispered, “You’re the last hope. Break your shit up. Unlock the ankle shackles. Come save me and then we get out of this together.”

Timur stood at the end of the pew and pointed his weapon at me. “Get up. You’re next.”

“Maybe, you can baptize us both at the same time.”

Timur held no humor on his face. “Get up or die here. It would make me sad, but the Great Snake would be happy for new souls.”

Sighing, I tilted forward and shifted my body so that I could stand. It took several seconds, but I got to my feet. Once I did, I headed his way.

Here we go.

I wobbled forward due to the shackles on my ankles. The chains rattled with each movement, the sound grating on my ears. The metal cuffs cut into my wrists, digging into the soft flesh.

Besides the fact that my dick kept hitting my thigh, the journey to the brown door was uneventful.

Timur hurried and got in front of me. Close up, I couldn’t miss his stench. His body stank of rotten meat and months-old urine. It was the odor of old mold on meat. And the smell grew stronger as he came closer.

Damn, man. Your religion doesn’t believe in showers?

I glanced over my shoulder.

Jean-Pierre watched us from the pews.

Man, you better starting breaking those fingers!

I turned back.

Timur opened the door and pointed the Ak-47 at me. “Are you ready for the Great Eagle?”

Stopping a few feet from Timur, I stared at him. “You think we could go call Eden and explain—”

“Don’t say my daughter’s name, heathen.”

“Can we call her afterwards?”

“After you see the Great Eagle, you’ll be able to call her yourself.” His face brightened.

“Good.” Hope came through me. “You’ll give me a phone?”

“You won’t need a phone when you’re flying with the Great Eagle.”

Man. . .

Timur gestured to the door. “Walk forward.”

Letting out an exasperated breath, I headed to the door. To my surprise, a long dimly lit hallway greeted my eyes with wood walls and a cement ground.

Alright. This isn’t. . .too bad.

Another brown door stood on the other side.

I stepped through and continued down the hallway.

The door slammed shut behind me, leaving only me and Timur in the hallway. My nerves flared.

The concrete was cold and unforgiving under my bare feet.

Several scenarios spun around in my head.

The fact that we were in a hallway could be a benefit. Fighting in tight spaces allowed for lots of leeway. I could headbutt him and use the hardness of the wall to help me keep his body on the ground. But the shackles and handcuffs restrained me from giving proper counter attacks and deadlier blows.

Plus, the hallway was too narrow for me to get proper leverage, and the walls were too close to use my shackled legs effectively.

Regardless, I would have risked all of that if the motherfucker didn’t have the weapon in his hand.

Timur whistled some odd rhythm.

I glanced back at him.

If you put that gun down, I’m going to fuck you up.

I knew Jean-Pierre considered him a father-in-law so the Butcher wouldn’t hurt him. I didn’t care about any of that shit. As soon as I got an opportunity to put him down, I would.

Timur walked around me and hurried to the door, leaving a trail of funk behind him.

I scrunched up my nose, opened my mouth, and breathed through my lips.

Unfortunately, some of that nastiness coated my tongue. I could actually taste his nasty ass in my mouth. It was like licking a garbage can. Bile rose in my throat, but I forced myself to keep it down.
