Good. We can get out of here.

All I needed to do was find Boris, take a damn shower, and put on some clothes.

“Boris?” I opened the next door and checked that room.

It was empty with no furniture or sign that anyone ever lived in there. The windows were boarded up. Dust covered the floors.

“Yo, Boris!” I shut that door, went to the other door, and opened it.

This room had a bed in the corner. The bed was covered in a thick layer of dust and the sheets were yellowed with age. There was a musty smell in the air that made my nose itch.

Come on, man. You’ve got to be alive, Boris.

Boris was irritating and dull, but he was a good guy. Plus, Em had lost so many people already. She’d been too busy to properly mourn Kennedy and X.

I also knew that she was sad about Daryl’s betrayal. It didn’t matter that her brother worked with Sasha, Luka, and Fela to possibly get her killed. Em’s heart was broken from his death too.

If anyone else died, she would crack.

"Boris?! Boris?!"

Be alive.

The last time I was with Em, I could see the bits and pieces falling out of place. Her laugh was hollow. Her smile didn’t reach her eyes. Sometimes a deep pain filled her gaze. She was pregnant and carrying the weight of the Lion’s world on her shoulders. Soon it would all be too much to handle.

I have to get back to her. She needs me.

Fear filled my heart.

I continued my search. Two of the doors went into small closets. Another door led to a clean bathroom that was painted mint green and white.

If I have to tell Em. . .that you’re gone, Boris. . .

She would shatter.

Dark Em might come back to slice people and leave a trail of bodies all over Italy.

None of us needed that.

The very thought brought a chill to my spine.

I opened the last door and froze.

What the. . ?

My mouth dropped open in shock.

Boris was definitely on the bed, humping, grunting, and sweating profusely. He had his back to me. Thankfully, a quilt covered his ass, but I could see his large hairy thighs moving up and down. The mattress rocked and creaked under his weight as he pounded away.

So. . .

I leaned my head to the side for a better view.

I wasn’t a hundred percent sure what he was doing, but I could make several guesses.

An eagle similar to the one hanging in Timur’s room was on the bed, pinned down under Boris. And I believed that he was pounding his dick into it.

I scratched my head and wasn’t sure what to do next. Should I just go take a shower and wait until dude was done? Or should I loudly laugh at him so he can fall off the bed in embarrassment?

Then, Boris moaned, “Oh, Emily. I knew you would feel this good.”

This motherfucker has a death wish.

All this time, I never really knew if his feelings for Em were sincere, or if he was just trying to get ahead by kissing up to her.

He really is in love with Em. Yet, he thought my trying to fuck Eden was dangerous?

I could handle the Butcher. Granted, it would be a 50/50 chance of who would survive. After all that occurred, I would never know that outcome. Jean-Pierre had proven to me that he was a good dude. Eden would be hands off from now on.

However, Boris could not handle the Lion. It didn't matter how much time Boris spent in the gym. The Lion was petty, had a serious anger management problem, and several nukes at his disposal that he was happy to use.

Boris, let it go.

Boris grunted and humped the eagle.

But for some reason, I found myself understanding him more. I could see how he fell for Em so easily. She was an amazing woman. I’d surely been drooling over her from afar all my life.

“Emily.” Boris groaned and shifted his words to several Russian ones.

Whatever he is saying. That shit is nasty.

Boris slammed harder into the eagle. The bed rocked faster. Feathers fells around him. The quilt began to bunch up in his left fist as he gripped them tighter. His other hand was braced against the headboard. His breathing rushed out in short, sharp pants.

“Emily. Emily.” The muscles in his arms and back strained. I swore even the eagle might have come alive. One of the talons looked to be digging into his flesh.

I’m pretty sure this is some form of animal abuse.

“Emily.” Boris grunted.

I just wondered when Boris would get the memo that the Lion had his claws locked tight on Em's lovely body. Boris would have to go up against the entire Brotherhood to even get a kiss. Simply because she was so faithful and stood strong for all that she loved, she would never let Boris get close enough. She would never disrespect the Lion that way.
