“You’re freaking out over nothing. It’s just a little stress because he wants his ass to look its best,” Travis adds.

“Um, you do remember how you lost your shit before you proposed to Gary, right?” Frankie asks.

“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” Travis replies, and we all laugh. It helps take some of the tension off. I mean, Derek relaxed a little after I stripped him and took his hungry little hole. It was what we needed. Sex has a way of grounding us, making us even more like one.

“I don’t know what’s wrong with me. I just want him to be happy and not stress.”

“You want to be able to fix everything for him, and a seamstress you are not,” Frankie teases, and I give him the finger.

He’s right, though. I love taking care of my boy, and I still can’t fucking believe he agreed to marry me. Hell, he’s the one who asked me. We didn’t do some elaborate thing like Gary and Travis. We’d been in bed, and I’d just fucked him. Derek was lying on my chest like he loved to do, his fingers twisting in the hair there, and he’d just said… “Do you ever want to get married again?” in this soft, vulnerable voice that he only allowed himself to give in to when it was us.

My heart had thudded against his cheek as I teasingly replied, “Are you tryin’ to ask me something?”

And he’d said, “Yes.” He’d leaned up so he could look down at me. “But I didn’t know it until this second. What do you think? Does Daddy wanna put a ring on it?”

It was perfect for us.

A smile pulls at my cheeks.

“Someone is thinking about something good,” Cody says.

“Oh God. It’s Derek’s ass, isn’t it?” Travis adds, pretending to vomit, and just like that, all my worries slip away. Derek loves me, and we’re getting married. Whatever happens, that’s all that matters.

Frankie and I are kicking Travis and Cody’s asses in a game of billiards when I know without looking that Derek is there. My eyes find the door just as it pulls open, and he’s the first to come inside. He looks well-fucked and less stressed than he did earlier when he comes over and says, “Who knew being the world’s sexiest bride was so much work? I’m famished.” He puts the back of his hand to his forehead and pretends to faint.

“With the best ass. You forgot that part.” I grin.

“First, I never forget that. Second, it happens to be a little sore from the way you dicked me down. What if I can’t walk in my own wedding?”

“Ew, TMI,” Zane says, and I’m glad my son had arrived as well and come down with Derek, Evan, and Gary.

“Oops.” Derek winks, and I swat his ass.

“Be good.”

“Yes, Daddy.” He whispers the daddy part.

“Hey, kid.” I walk over and hug Zane. He’s not a kid anymore. He’s in the bar legally now, unlike when he had a fake ID and found out about Derek and me. He’s packed on some muscle over the years and is almost as big as me.

“Hey, Dad. You ready for this?” he teases.

“Been ready for a long time.”

Things were awkward at first, but Derek and Zane are close now. They like to team up on Steph and me a lot, which is good to see.

“I’m happy for you,” he replies, and I know he really is.

“Your mom stay back at the lodge?” I ask.

“Yeah, she and Damian are taking a nap.” Damian is Steph’s—my ex-wife’s—new boyfriend. They make a better couple than she and I ever did. I love Steph, but I hadn’t been in love with her in a long time. We’re each with whom we’re supposed to be. I can’t imagine my life without Derek, and Steph and I are so close, she actually got ordained and will be performing the wedding ceremony.

“So are we going to play, or are we waiting until we’re all as old as Jackson?” Frankie asks.

“Fuck you!” I reply as everyone, my son included, laughs.

We finish the game, which Frankie and I win, before going to the bar for drinks. “What do you want?” I ask Derek.

“That one beer you like? The apple one,” he replies, and I order one for each of us before he settles on my lap. “Evan is amazing. He worked magic on my pants. If it wasn’t my ass he was saving, I might be jelly.”

I lean forward and nuzzle his neck. “It’ll be okay. No matter what, don’t freak out, all right? It’s just us.”

Derek relaxes into me and exhales a deep breath. “I know.” He turns and smiles.

“Who in the hell is that?” Zane asks, and everyone looks over to see a slender guy with dark hair walk in. “I’d call dibs, but you’re all old, tied down, and not as hot as me anyway.”
