“A map?” Lorne nearly bounced off Carrick’s lap. “Are we using a crystal like they did on Charmed? The old one, of course. I like that show even if the only dragon they had was naughty.”

Carrick didn’t seem to know what to say to that. “I don’t think I know what a charm is in this context, but we’ll be scrying for it if that’s what you’re asking. It’s very basic magic, but I’m strong enough that we can narrow the area down and won’t need to search very far.”

Lorne collapsed to the floor in a pile of shock and drama, looking up at me like the world had ended. “Daddy, I’m dead. He doesn’t know Charmed.”

Rolling his eyes, Carrick huffed. “What did I say about getting marks?”

Refusing to even think about not getting a spanking, Lorne aimed his sad eyes at his Dom. “But, Sir, you don’t know the best witches ever and it’s so sad.”

It only took a second for Carrick to catch up to what Lorne meant. “It’s a TV show?”

Nodding earnestly, Lorne didn’t seem to realize how insane he was making Carrick. “Yes, Sir. But don’t worry, I’ll help you watch it and we’ll do it together. I’ll explain everything so you know how to be the best witch ever.”

“I’m a mage.” Carrick seemed to be trying to decide how offended to be and settled on a vague threat. “Do you want to find your phone or not?”

He’d probably find it eventually, but Lorne looked like he’d decided that he’d pushed his luck far enough. “Yes, Sir.”

Bouncing up off the floor, he took Carrick’s hand and started swinging it back and forth. “I like your house, Sir.”

He was going to make Carrick insane, but until he made our cranky mage’s head explode, I was going to enjoy the show.

Chapter 5

Lorne

“I still don’t understand how it ended up here.” Pulling my phone out from under the bench in the Walmart parking lot, I looked around. “I didn’t even park near here.”

I always parked on the other side of the lot so I wouldn’t forget where I’d left my car. This was nowhere near my spot.

“I think someone tried to steal your phone, monkey.” Daddy Monroe ran his hand over my head and looked around the area. “You must’ve set it down somewhere.”

That was entirely possible.

“Thank you for your help, Sir.” I was doing my best to ignore the look on Carrick’s face but it was getting difficult. He wasn’t happy and Daddy had already said that was his worried for me expression. “I promise to be more careful.”

Somehow.

Carrick sighed. “I know you will and I’ll try not to worry about what could happen to you.”

I wasn’t sure it was a good idea to tell him he was cute for worrying about me, so I just kissed his cheek. He wasn’t as big as Daddy Monroe, but Daddy was big even for a dragon, and since I was kind of short for a dragon, I had to stretch to reach Carrick’s cheek.

My mother had always said that it’d taken a lot of energy to give me such a sparkling personality, so I should be grateful I wasn’t shorter.

“I will try very hard…” To what? “To pay more attention to my surroundings.”

Ha. Guessed right.

Carrick was nodding and looked almost like he believed me. “I’m glad. That way we don’t have to work on rules to keep you safe.”

Oh, that didn’t sound good at all.

I wasn’t going to ask what he meant because I was smart enough to see that problem from a mile away, but Daddy was a pain in the butt. “How would that look to you?”

Was he being helpful or trying to punish me?

I couldn’t tell, and unfortunately Carrick took the question seriously. “There are several options, but the first I think we should discuss is applying a simple tracking spell to a few of his things. His phone, keys, and wallet could easily be spelled to give him some kind of subtle reminder if they’re too far away from him.”

Well, that wasn’t as bad as I’d expected.

As they each took a hand and led me back to Daddy’s car, they started talking about other things I might lose and it was all very reasonable…right up until it wasn’t.

“The signal that he’s lost something needs to be one that will stand out.” Daddy sounded thoughtful and so relaxed I’d almost tuned out the conversation. “Could you give him an erection?”

Oh wow.

I was going to have to ask Kenzie if that’d be a punishment or not…once I could tell him about private stuff…because anything that was erection related would probably fall into the privacy category.

And I was definitely going to have to start paying more attention to what they were saying.

“That might end up training him to get aroused every time he thought he’d lost something.” Carrick was thinking entirely too hard about the insane conversation for my liking. “What about his balls feeling full? That would only be perceptible to him and it wouldn’t be something anyone else would notice visually. It wouldn’t encourage him to lose things deliberately.”
