I’m only a little apprehensive, since they clearly had no issues with my completely nude form. I pull on a pair of dark wash skinny jeans that make my ass look decent and a low-cut burgundy top that accentuates the girls. After applying a fresh coat of mascara and slipping on some cute black flats, I’m ready to go.

It’s been a little over an hour since Mattie and I left Kade and Brandon in the lobby of the hotel, so I hope that they’ve returned to their room by now. When I reach their room and knock on the door, it’s only a few seconds before Brandon is opening the door with a smile on his face.

With a drink in my hand and some light conversation, I feel Kade redirect the mood to something a bit more serious. I think it’s a normal thing to feel nervous anytime someone says “We want to talk” but when Kade says it I don’t feel that way. What could possibly happen? We aren’t dating, so he couldn’t be breaking up with me. I think we will probably be discussing the need for discretion. That would make sense, after all.

I watch Brandon and Kade have a silent conversation between them, my eyes traveling from one hunky man to the next. At Kade’s slight nod, Brandon speaks.

“We want to get to know you,” growls Brandon. Okay, this is not the topic of conversation I was expecting. Maybe they need to make sure I’m trustworthy. “And we want you to get to know us,” he goes on. Well, that’s definitely not what I was expecting.

“Um. Okay. What do you want to know?” I ask, hesitantly.

“Where do you live?” Kade cuts in.

“Poughkeepsie,” I say. “Mattie mentioned you live in NYC, right?”

“Yeah, we both do,” Kade confirms.

“So, you’re a model and personal trainer in NYC. What about you Brandon?”

“Actually,” Brandon starts, “I’m Kade’s business partner.”

“Right,” I confirm. “You mentioned that before. How does a personal trainer and model have a business partner?” I know my brow is furrowed, trying to piece things together.

“I’m not just a model and personal trainer,” Kade confesses. “We own a chain of gyms called Muscle Nation. Have you heard of it?” I’m sure my jaw drops, the confession truly shocking me. The gasp that escapes my lips seems loud in the quiet room.

“Muscle Nation?” I finally croak. “The Muscle Nation? Hugely successful, all over the country Muscle Nation?” Both men nod. “Wow.” I feel a little speechless. The words come seconds later, although in retrospect I wonder if it seems a bit rude. “You must be ultra-successful.”

“You could say that,” Brandon says with a grin.

“Wait a minute,” I exclaim, turning to Kade. “What the hell am I doing paying you two thousand per appearance when you’re loaded? Are you even really a male model?” Brandon and Kade laugh at the question, clearly unconcerned with my outburst.

“Yes, I am. It’s just a side job, and it’s one that allows me to meet women like yourself,” Kade admits. “Women in the city are not for us,” he claims.

I can do nothing but nod.

“But why are you here? Why do you even do appearances like romance conventions?”

Brandon shrugs.

“The women in NYC are terrible. They’re stick thin and obsessed with money. When you have a lot of it, like we do, they throw themselves at you. Personally, we find it disgusting because it’s like being hit with a sack of bones.”

“They have razor sharp knees and elbows that could cut,” adds Kade.

I nod slowly.

“Okay, but why are you doing this? And how did you get started with Muscle Nation?”

Brandon nods thoughtfully.

“Actually, I came in after Kade started things. He founded Muscle Nation with some initial seed money from his dad, and brought me in to help. I took charge of the expansion and stuck around to see the success it’s become in the last ten years,” Brandon explains.

“That’s when you met?” I ask. I’m still trying to wrap my head around all the information I’m getting.

“No,” Brandon starts. He glances at Kade and smiles before turning his attention back to me. “We’ve known each other a long time.”

“Since high school in fact,” Kade adds. My head snaps to Kade with wide eyes.

“Did you start sleeping together in high school?” I’m aware the question might be somewhat intrusive, but I can’t help but be curious about the men I shared a bed with last night.

They both nod their confirmation.

“Wow,” is all I can say. It takes a moment to get my bearings before the next question pops from my mouth.

“Are you out? Or is this a secret?”

Kade is the first to answer with a simple, “No, we’re not out.”

Brandon picks up and adds the explanation.

“Muscle Nation caters to alpha male customers. If it got out that the owners were bisexual, it could very well destroy our business.”
