“My friends are cool,” Derek reassures me.

But these aren’t just his friends. They’re his co-workers too. This is a small town where everybody knows each other. It’s important that I fit in and make a good impression.

My brother leads me up the porch steps and tells me to wait. He ducks his head into the room and announces that he has a date. Then he gestures for me to join him and together, we walk into a tiny kitchen. Apparently, the groom and his bride are getting married in an outdoor ceremony in their backyard.

There’s a beautiful redheaded woman in a man’s tuxedo that’s perfectly molded to her curves. Her face is dusted with freckles.

“That’s Wynter,” Derek supplies. Maybe it’s my imagination but his voice sounds different when he says her name. But I can’t quite figure out why.

“Hello.” I give her a nervous smile.

Wynter smiles back at me. Her blue eyes are so warm and welcoming. Part of me hopes I’ve found a new friend I can hang out with. After high school, my friends and I went our separate ways. I haven’t had a chance to build a strong girl circle since and I’d like to try now that I’m going to be staying here in Courage County.

Beside her is a man with dark hair.

“That’s Lincoln, the groom,” Derek nods to him.

He grins at me. “Welcome to the family, Journey.”

“And the ugly son of a bitch is Cam,” my brother introduces the man that’s looking down and fiddling with his tie. He appears to be cursing under his breath at the thing. But he glances up at the mention of his name and that’s when I stop breathing. Camden is my bull rider. The man I had a one night stand with last week is my older brother’s best friend.

CAMDEN

“You stole my testicles,” I say to the blonde beauty as I pull her into my arms. We’re in the middle of the makeshift dance floor in Lincoln’s backyard. It was a beautiful wedding…I think. I couldn’t concentrate on a damn thing that was happening because I was so busy staring at Journey the entire time.

She twists like she’s trying to get away from me.

I growl. “Settle down.”

She instantly stops her struggle, her pupils growing wide. She still likes it when I boss her around. That’s good. I plan to do it a hell of a lot. Right after I get to the bottom of why she ran away from me.

I tighten my grip on her thick hips. I’ve been searching everywhere for her. I’ve been back to the Charging Bull countless times trying to find her. Each night I was off, I’d pray she’d be there. Then she shows up in the middle of my friend’s wedding like a personal gift just for me? I don’t know what I did to deserve finding her again but I’m not about to let her go.

“I can’t believe you’re his friend. I’ll move out,” she murmurs.

Derek texted me earlier. He told me he wanted me to consider adding his new sister as a third roommate to the house. Told me he’d cover her share of the rent for a little while. But never in my wildest dreams did I think that our new roommate would be the woman from the hottest night of my life.

“You’re not moving out.” If I have to chain her to my bed for a few days until she sees reason, I’ll do that. Maybe that sounds too intense to most, but this woman belongs to me. She belongs with me.

I want her by my side for the rest of our days and if I have to convince her of this by tying her up and giving her endless orgasms then that’s exactly what I’m going to do. Hell, just the thought of going down on her again already has my mouth watering. I can’t wait to taste her sweet juices, to feel them dripping down my chin as she screams my name.

Derek claps a hand on my shoulder and for a moment, I think he’s going to try to cut into our dance. A growl is already forming in my throat. He might be my best friend, but this could be the thing that rips us apart for good. Because I’m not staying away from my curvy beauty. Not for anyone.

“Could you give Journey a ride home? I’m on clean up detail.” He nods toward Wynter. I’m pretty sure he has feelings for her. But she’s the rookie at our department, a new firefighter still on probation and he’s the lieutenant which makes him her boss. That’s a hell of a sticky situation.

“It’s fine. I can wait around until—”

“I’ll do it.” We need time and space to sort this out anyway. I’d rather do that without her brother as our audience. I’ll talk with him in the morning, lay it all out on the table and tell him exactly how I feel about Journey. I don’t expect he’ll be too thrilled, but it doesn’t matter. No one is taking her away from me.
