I ignore her and move toward the door that leads to the back of the office. My woman is scared right now, and I won’t leave her alone in that even if I have to knock on every damn patient door there is.

“You can’t do that!” Miss Martha shoves to her feet.

I move faster than she does, propelled forward by the driving need to get to my woman. I’m already halfway through the door when I call over my shoulder, “I’m coming back here! Call fuckin’ security if you have to!”

I was taught never to shout at my elders, much less to cuss. But this is an emergency situation. I have to get to Journey. She’s my reason for breathing and she needs to know that her man is here for her.

Journey

“Have you told the father yet?” Derek prompts, his tone filled with curiosity.

I can hear the sound of Cam charging into the back offices. He’s coming for me and the thought calms me. “I’m pretty sure I’m about to.”

The door to the exam room swings open and he tips his head to the side, asking me a silent question.

My heart skips a beat at his presence. I should have known he’d come for me. My man always will. I give him a little nod, confirming that we are carrying a little bundle of joy. I don’t know how or when it happened. But I’ll always be grateful for this baby.

He moves faster than light. One moment, Cam is standing in the doorway and the next he’s in front of me, wrapping his arms around me. His hug brings tears to my eyes. We’re starting a family together.

“I’m so happy,” he whispers into my ear.

“I was worried,” I admit.

He leans back so he can look into my eyes. “Never worry, baby girl. I love you. I want to marry you and raise our baby together. And after this, we’ll have more babies. I’ll give you all the babies you want.”

“Fuck me,” Derek mutters.

My excitement dims. For a moment, I forgot he was in the room. All I could see and focus on was Cam and our incredible future. I don’t want Derek to be angry at us, but I can understand how he’d feel betrayed.

Cam brushes a kiss against my forehead. “Let me handle this, darlin’.”

He lets go of me and turns to face his best friend. “I didn’t know she was your sister when I met her. Remember I told you about bar girl?”

“I thought that was a tall tale!” Derek pushes to his feet and rakes his fingers through his hair. He paces the small exam room which is pretty crowded since there are three of us in here. “You claimed to have the testicles and couldn’t show them to anyone.”

I raise my hand like a kid in class answering a question. “Actually, I stole those from him. He won the golden bull testicles.”

“We won them,” Cam corrects, his voice quiet and filled with warmth.

He faces Cam again. “You’ve been sleeping with my sister. She’s vampire girl, isn’t she? Fuck, brother. This is something you should have told me.”

“I asked him not to tell you,” I admit quietly. I wish I’d just told him before. Maybe if he’d known sooner then he wouldn’t be this upset.

“I made the final decision,” Cam says quickly. “I was the one that decided we’d tell you in a few weeks and if you want to be angry at me for the rest of your life, that’s fair. But don’t take it out on her. This shit is all on me.”

Derek’s gaze flicks past Cam to me. “Are you happy?”

“Very happy.” Probably the happiest I’ve been in years. I had to go through a lot to get here but it was all worth it. Everything was worth it to find Derek and Cam, to make a family with the man I love.

“With him and the baby?” He holds my gaze and searches it. The only thing he’ll find on my face is pure love and excitement. This is my future, and I can’t wait to spend it with Cam.

“I’m over the moon,” I promise, meaning every word. I feel like I’ve won the lottery now that I know Cam is here and supportive.

Derek is quiet for a long moment then he turns to Cam. “You keep her happy and we’ll never have a problem.”

Cam holds out his hand, prepared to strike a bargain. But Derek grabs him and pulls him into his arms, clapping him on the back. Then before I know it, they’re throwing their arms around me in a group hug, and I know we’re going to be OK. We’re a family and we’ll stick together no matter what.

EPILOGUE

JOURNEY

I’m in the pantry of the Forever After Lodge, searching for another bottle of BBQ sauce when I hear a deep voice rumble behind me. “Have you been following the rules, baby girl?”
