“I have a sitting area in my bedroom. You can hang out there if it makes you more comfortable. We’re just going to talk until you fall asleep, promise.”

“Well,” she drags out. “I guess if you put it that way and since you promise.”

I wrap my arm around her head and drag her into my room with me. Releasing her, I allow her to sit in one of the accent chairs and curl her legs under her. I feel like a perv as her little panties come into view, taunting me.

I force my attention to her cute little toes. They are painted a soft pink. I wonder if she’s ever painted them white.

I roll my eyes at my thoughts and head into the bathroom to strip and climb into the shower. Shit, have I been slipping? I’ve been so focused on that chick out there and how to pull her into my circle.

Maybe this was a mistake. Why did I want her here so bad to begin with? Yeah, I have work for her, but what are my real intentions?

“I’m so fucked,” I say as I lift my face toward the spray and allow the water to beat down on me and cascade down my body. I look down at my hard dick and wonder if that’s the head I’ve been thinking with. I would have seen Jonny coming if I had my head in the game.

“Fuck, fuck, fuck. What am I going to do now?”

I finish my shower and step out to towel off. Wrapping a towel around my waist, I use the other one to dry my hair as I walk into the bedroom. I don’t see her at first, so I walk a little closer to the sitting area only to find she’s gone.

I shouldn’t feel this disappointed. I truly only intended to talk. It was going to kill me, but that’s all I planned to do.

“Fuck me,” I mutter.

Oni

“What in the entire hell are you doing, Oni?” I hiss at myself.

I stand up to leave, then sit back down, bouncing my knee as I try to clear my head. His scent is all over this room. It smells expensive and clean.

“He’s a killer. There’s nothing clean about him,” I speak the words aloud to remind myself.

I glance toward the bathroom as I listen to the shower running, wondering what I’m doing here. I think I might be in shock. Did I just witness a double homicide? I’m pretty sure I did.

“Duh,” I hiss at my thoughts.

At this point, I’m in survival mode. Rico isn’t going to simply allow me to walk away after what I saw tonight. How do I get myself into shit like this?

I’m sure this isn’t what Uncle Claude had in mind when he agreed for me to work for Rico. Uncle Claude has a lot of explaining to do. This is some bullshit.

I gasp as it dawns on me, I’ve been so wrapped up in Rico, I haven’t checked in with Mom or Uncle Claude. I left my phone in my room. I bite my lip and stare in the direction of the bathroom.

Jumping up, I then race to my room to grab my phone and make a few calls. I know it’s late, but Mom and Uncle Claude are probably waiting to hear from me. Once in my room, I decide to call Mom first.

I need to hear her voice more than anything. I also want to make sure she’s not freaking out, which I’m sure she is. This is the most trouble I’ve ever been in.

The line rings twice before she picks up. She was probably waiting by the phone, making me feel worse. If I had called my mom instead of being nosy, I might have avoided the huge pile of shit I stepped in.

“Oh, thank God. I didn’t want to call you and distract you from paying attention to your surroundings, but I did plan to call you soon if you didn’t check in. How are you, baby?

“How was the trip? How’s your Uncle Claude?” Mom rattles off.

“I’m fine, Mom. The trip was long. I haven’t seen Uncle Claude yet. He was busy. I’m getting settled in,” I reply.

“I thought he was going to meet you at the bus station. Did you find the house okay?”

I stop pacing in front of the bed and slide down to the floor. I hate keeping the truth from my mom, but she would freak out if she knew about any of this. I hope Rico truly has a plan for sending her money discreetly.

“He sent a friend for me. I’m fine. I’m going to go to bed soon though, I’m beat.”

“I’m sure you are. Baby, I’m so glad you’re safe. Do me a favor and stay out of trouble.

“Let this be a clean start. You’re so bright. You have your whole life ahead of you.”
