“That’s a sexy name for it, though.” I give him a seductive look, one I can tell he appreciates as he bites his lip.

He offers a few instructions, and I don’t let up my eye contact. Soon, he’s kneeling beside me, his hand pressed on my firm abs as he pushes me back a little farther.

“Oh, yeah,” I say. “That feels good. Real good.”

I can tell by the look in his eyes that he’d love to take me back to his place and fuck the hell out of me, but what’s really doing it for me is the thought of snatching that condom from him and showing him who’s boss.

I glance back and through the glass, see Derek, his mouth hanging open while Gary laughs into Derek’s shoulder.

I chat up the guy, whose name turns out to be Roger, and I work a number out of him before I head back out to my buddies.

“I apologize for underestimating you, Obi Wan Cum-obi,” Derek says as I approach them.

They tease me about my pickup skills as we head through the parking lot. We get into our separate cars and drive to Metropolis, meeting at Derek’s place for our guys’ night. As much fun as we’ve had tonight, I know things are about to get serious. I’m not eager to talk about the breakup for so many reasons, but I need my friends right now. We drink Chardonnay as we sit on the couch in Derek’s living room, chatting a little about me and Lance before I get to one of the most serious parts of our breakup. “Toward the end there, he wasn’t even attracted to me. Like sexually. We went a long stretch where he didn’t even want to have sex. I don’t even think he could look at me like a sex object anymore.”

“Like how long?” Gary asks. “You guys have been broken up for like a week?”

“A long time. He couldn’t even get it up with me. I did everything. Costumes. Porn. I mean, he could’ve done whatever he wanted, but he couldn’t get it hard around me anymore.”

Derek stares at me blankly.

Gary notices and gently punches him in the arm. “Stop it.”

“Like how long?” Derek asks.

God, this is the fucking embarrassing part.

“Six months,” I confess. I don’t have a reason to lie to either of them.

“Why didn’t you ever say anything?” Gary asks.

I feel bad that I never told them, especially considering they’ve both shared so much with me.

“It was embarrassing,” I confess. “I’ve never had problems in that area until I was with Lance. You know, he was…weird about sex stuff in general. Like when we did that strip-off for the fundraiser last year. Remember how he got afterward? He wasn’t very big on experimenting or trying new things. Vanilla as fuck, and then the fact that he was jealous over every little thing didn’t make it any easier. He said he had to go because he clearly couldn’t satisfy me sexually and because he thought I was a whore.”

“He said whore?” Derek asks.

“A few times, actually.”

“I’m so sorry, Hayden,” Gary adds.

“Well,” Derek says, “now you should show him just how much fun you can have, starting with that hot-piece-of-ass yoga instructor. You guys can work on the Camel Pose all night long. And we can totally get numbers like crazy at the Halloween party next week.”

“Oh, God.” Gary’s tone suggests just how much he’s dreading it.

“You haven’t even told us what we’re wearing yet,” I say.

“Because it’s a surprise.”

“I’m not wearing anything crazy weird.”

“Don’t think crazy weird. Think crazy sexy. I’m not going to do anything that keeps you from getting laid.” He turns to Gary. “And I’m just going to make it hot enough that Travis can’t stand being out in public with you because he’s going to want to get you back to the condo and ravage you like a fucking animal.”

“Fair enough,” Gary says, surrendering to Derek’s plan.

I smile. I’m lucky to have such good friends in my life, especially right now.

“Thank you for being here,” I say. “I appreciate it. I’ve got so much shit I have to sort through right now while I find a new place, and I don’t know, figure out who the hell I am outside of Lance, but it helps knowing you guys are in my corner.”

“Don’t worry.” Gary raises his glass. “Things will work out.”

He’s such an optimist. But he only became this way when he found an amazing guy to be with.

Still, I appreciate the encouragement.

“So, how’s Tary?” I lean back on Travis’s couch as he finishes an energy drink. He’ll be heading to Magic Touch in a little while, but I stopped over after my morning workout, anyway. I’m in the unit next door to him. He’s busy as fuck and also still struggles with showing he actually needs people sometimes, unless it’s Gary, so I still have to force my ass into his daily life.
