I exhale deeply, and then smile at my two lovers. The cowboys are insanely handsome, and seem to hover over me 24/7 these days.
“No, I’m okay,” I reply. “But I do think the babies are going to be pro soccer players when they grow up.”
The twins share a look.
“Or maybe pro cowboys,” Colt rasps.
“Or cowgirls,” Cason adds with a wicked grin. “The kind who love to ride double headed dildos while getting jounced in the saddle.”
I giggle because our sex life has only gotten naughtier since I found out about the pregnancy. The twins have dreamed up so many dirty scenarios to role-play that I swear, all we do is enjoy each other’s bodies morning, noon and night. But I need it as a pregnant horny woman, and it absolutely takes two men to keep me satisfied these days.
So who am I to judge? I adore two men, and Colt and Cason adore me in return. Maybe some people don’t approve of our untraditional love, but there are many ways to connect, and relationships can take on a multitude of sizes, shapes, and forms. Maybe the Madewell family will come around one day, but maybe they won’t. All I know is that the twins’ relatives haven’t asked for help with their kids’ tuition so far, but we shall see. Their children aren’t college age yet, and things may shift again.
So I giggle and lean back with a smile on my face. Life has turned out so differently from what I expected. I came out to the ranch for a gap year, fully intending to return and pursue a veterinary degree. I was going to be a career woman with a fancy degree, working in a sterile office. But now, I’m a pregnant lady who’s brimming with love. I have my men; I have my pets and hobbies; and soon, I’ll have two babies too.
“Do you think it’s possible to be happier than we are now?” I ask with a blissful smile.
The twins grin, but then take me by surprise. The handsome brothers sit on either side of me, their expressions somber. They’re so striking that I lose my breath just looking at them, but remind myself to focus.
“What is it?” I ask immediately. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing’s wrong per se,” Colt growls. “It’s just we haven’t told you everything, Kiki.”
My brow scrunches.
“About your family?”
“No, about your family,” Cason corrects.
Now, I’m confused.
“What are you talking about? I love my mom and dad. Are they okay? There’s nothing going on with them as far as I know. In fact, I just spoke with them last night, and they seemed fine.”
I’m lucky because my parents were shocked at first at the changes in my life, but they fell in line pretty quick. Brenda and Bob want me to be happy no matter what, and I know they’ll love Colt and Cason when they visit after the babies are born.
But the twins shake their heads.
“Yes, but things aren’t as they seem,” Colt says in a low voice. “You were adopted, Kiki.”
“Oh, I know that,” I say with a relieved smile. “Brenda and Bob have always been open about the fact that I was adopted. But it was a closed adoption, and I’ve never been able to reach out to my biological family. In fact, I don’t even know their names.”
Colt and Cason share a look.
“Right,” they say. “It was a closed adoption, but things are different now, especially with the advent of the internet and powerful search engines. Basically, your biological family has been unearthed, and well … we were asked to keep an eye on you.”
My face drops.
“What? What are you talking about?”
The twins look ashamed.
“We hired you through the agency at the behest of a friend,” Colt explains a bit hesitantly. “He’s dating your twin sister and—”
“Twin what?” I ask in a startled voice, sitting upright. “What are you talking about?”
Cason steps in, his harsh features somber.
“You were separated at birth from an identical twin sister,” he explains. “There’s another woman out there with your face and features, but she was kept by your biological family while you were put up for adoption.”
“What?” I almost hyperventilate. “I can’t believe it!”
“I know this is a lot,” Colt growls, looking alarmed. “Do you want us to stop? You’re pregnant and we don’t want to stress you out too much, sweetheart.”
“You’ve already stressed me out enough!” I shriek. “Tell me everything!”
The twins nod, their expressions somber and serious.
“Our buddy, Cameron Hart, is dating your twin sister. He’s a billionaire, so he does a thorough vetting before getting entangled with any woman. He ran a background check on Rainey, and lo and behold, it showed that her dad’s a criminal with a dozen arrests for a multitude of sins. Not only that, but he uncovered the fact that Rainey has an identical twin – you.”
