Laughter bubbled out of him and he shook his head as he wiggled against Carrick. “I was a good boy, Daddy. I didn’t make a mess.”

That was so unbelievable I snorted and got more laughter from him.

Carrick leaned down and did a mock stage whisper. “I’d try a different angle. That one isn’t reasonable.”

That got even more giggles from Lorne and it seemed to signal the passing of his fit and his stress. “I’m so cute when I sparkle, Daddy.”

“That’s much better.” Encouraging Lorne’s silliness, Carrick nodded. “It’s true and it could be taken as cute or as naughty.”

Lorne sprang up into a sitting position, nearly falling out of Carrick’s lap. “Both!”

Most definitely.

Turning to smile at Carrick, Lorne gave him the sweetest naughty smile ever. “I have glittery body paint, Sir.”

Oh, that sounded messy.

Carrick smirked. “That doesn’t surprise me.”

Lorne seemed to take that as a good sign and giggled. “I bet nothing surprises you.”

Rolling his eyes, Carrick huffed. “I’m not that easily manipulated, but…”

Drawing out the silence, he raised one eyebrow and studied Lorne. “It might have gotten you a peek at your dungeon. Would you like to see where it’s hidden?”

Eyes going wide, Lorne sucked in a breath and couldn’t seem to move past his shocked excitement. After a few seconds, he turned to me. “Daddy, I get to see my dungeon.”

Wait.

Had that been what Carrick said?

His dry chuckle said he’d caught that too, but he just gave Lorne’s cheek a quick peck and patted his back to encourage him to stand up. “As long as we don’t see any more fits. Is that understood?”

Once he rose, Lorne nodded and did his best to look utterly earnest, hands clasped in front of his body and everything. “Oh yes, I understand.”

Then it was my turn and as I stood, he hurried over and curled up against my chest. “I’ll be good, Daddy.”

Probably not, but I nodded and kissed his nose anyway. “I’m sure you will. You’re my sweet boy.”

I was hoping guilt would help that come true in the long run, but short term I wouldn’t hold my breath. “Should we take our good boy and go find the dungeon now?”

He was so excited he was nearly vibrating, but Lorne was still working on looking cute and innocent. “Yes, Daddy.”

I even got a bashful smile as he took my hand. “Will you hold my hand? I’m nervous.”

Bullshit.

But it was so cute, what could I say?

“Of course.” Kissing his head as Carrick scoffed, I smiled at my manipulative cutie. “Daddy is here to keep you safe.”

And to keep things from getting out of hand.

It was our first fucking date and I didn’t think either of them remembered that.

Chapter 8

Lorne

I was going to have so much fun telling Kenzie he was wrong once I could talk about my sex dungeon.

Ugh. I really hoped Carrick would get over being shy sooner rather than later, but in the meantime, I was having fun looking adorable and swinging Daddy’s hand. “Now, don’t be scared of what you see, Daddy. It might feel overwhelming, but our mate knows I’m very special and will only hurt me in good ways.”

Or Kenzie would eat him.

But Carrick was very smart and had figured out how easily he could be eaten on his own…I was so proud of him.

Daddy groaned, though, probably because he was nervous about seeing my dungeon for the first time. “Thank you, monkey.”

“And you don’t have to get tied up or tortured into an orgasm unless you want to.” I’d share if he wanted me to. “We’re just going to use good communication when it comes to my dungeon.”

Oh, please don’t let it be ugly.

For some reason, the idea of sharing made Carrick snicker and Daddy sigh. “Monkey, how did you know Carrick would have a dungeon for you?”

That was so silly.

“It’s in all the books.” Everyone knew that. “If a Master is super rich or magical, there’s a dungeon. And in this case, Carrick knew about me for a while, so there was lots of time to plan.”

Carrick was shaking his head as he led us through his house and down toward the hallway where I knew it’d been to begin with. “You have fascinating logic.”

I knew I was smart, so I smiled. “Thank you, Sir.”

Now Daddy was the one who was snickering, but I was just glad he wasn’t worried any longer, so I squeezed his hand. “We knew it was hiding here somewhere, Daddy. We’re so smart.”

That made Carrick huff. “You’d have never found it.”

Mages were so magey.

“That’s because you’re so good at hiding things.” Yep, he liked being praised too. He looked like he stood even taller and even Daddy grinned. But I didn’t mind because having him happy was more important than pointing out I was the smartest.

“Daddy, we have the smartest mate, don’t we?” Daddy’s lips twisted up but he didn’t giggle.
